I try not to get too caught up with the "let's see the contract" crowd as I generally think these contract issues are overblown and end up sorting themselves out.

But with a 32 year old top of the market center (who I like)....let's see the contract first.

If the Devils win Goudreau they are building the fastest team in hockey and the question must be asked are they better than the Rangers right now. Plus they’re gonna deal Zaca to Boston plus they may land Copp.

The best they could be is a regular season darling that people talk about, but still misses the playoffs. They do not have the construction of a team that could seriously threaten anyone in the playoffs.

Why? If Rangers give him that it’ll have some sort of protection for us at the end of the deal as in movability.

I'd be amenable starting the season Mika, Fil, Goodrow, Rydahl down the middle and see what happens. But that's me.

Honestly, I've seen it used more as a cautionary tale to not do something incredibly stupid with Kakko, Laf or Chytil... I know I've brought it up that way. If people are EXPECTING to land another deal like that in our favor, well those Gomez for McD, Bras for Zib type deals can't be banked on.
