I just don’t think they are a good match. You have to manage and fit styles and types.I agree we should move forward with Panarin but I'm tired of tiptoeing around him in roster building threads finding "who he can play with."
I could see that with kids like Laf/Kakko/Kravtsov who need more confidence at this level or even Kreider with his unique skills.
Panarin is supposed to be a Hart-caliber player. Filip Chyil is not Kevin Rooney or Cody McLeod. If he can't work with Chytil, he's not as good as he thinks he is.
Getting ahead of myself here but wiIth Trocheck in the mix 23-24 is gonna be extremely interesting. I think a Goodrow buyout is in the cards. I don't know how else they make the money work otherwise.
Copp doesn't normally skate like that. He was hurt. How in gods name are people complaining about the trocheck signing.
You really would have wanted copp who also has an injury history and moves like a tractor trailer is tied to his skates???
Trocheck is better than Copp and his style fits better IMO so I'm not really sure why anyone would complain unless they're anticipating a bad contract. Copp is more of a winger, Trocheck is a pure center. The fact that he's fast and aggressive brings that different style to the group that we really need. How in gods name are people complaining about the trocheck signing.

Maybe, maybe not, the only difference from what people are calling a pretty STRONG group is Rydahl and Trocheck obviously, and we have not SEEN Rydahl in the NHL yet or Fil with whatever improvement he brings so that brings me to my point of NYR giving it a look, before we spend assets and cap to fix it, being okay with me. You don't have to be okay with it, hahaha, but I am.That’s a VERY weak group of centers
It could start going up in 24-25 but that doesn't help next year lol. Unless the plan is to bridge Lafreniere and Chytil (again) which it very well could be.I do think there's some amount of banking on the cap going up a lot after that year, but might be a weird season indeed

Bookmarked. If they sign Halak, I'll shave his number into my chest hair
i havent said he isnt a 2c, jesus people need to actually read. i said he is a 2c on a hopefuly team but on a true cup contender he is a 3c.It all comes down to AAV and term. Obviously. If it’s fair, it’s a solid deal. If not, someone else can overpay him.
To say Trocheck is not a 2C is asinine though. You may not like him stylistically or his personality for whatever reason, but he’s absolutely a 2C and it’s not debatable. Is he the best 2C in the NHL? No, but at worst he’s middle of the pack. He’s a virtual lock for 50+ points while bringing speed, forecheck, and face off ability. If he’s a 3C then Chytil is a 6C.
We all want a 24 year old 2C on a good contract with a chance to be a 1C but we need to remain on earth here. Young top 6 centers and young top pair defenseman are gold in this league. They don’t get dealt absent an absurd situation like Eichel.
Apparently, five teams are interested in Charlie Lindgren.I have always liked Halak but is he cooked? I would take Lindgren as well.

Halak played behind a horrible defense last year on a bad team. If he takes vet minimum he would be my top choice for sure.I have always liked Halak but is he cooked? I would take Lindgren as well.
