I keep saying this too. What kind of a legitimate business has a bad year and suddenly can’t pay raises and has to get the employees to chip in.
NHL sort yourself out.

So its ok to share the revenue when business is good but then they want a bigger share when it isnt...got it.

I know I'm higher than many on Kakko but, moving Kakko will be a big mistake.

Legitimately shown flashes of being a potential top 15 Selke candidate.

I could honestly see his floor being Jere Lehtonen, while his ceiling is massive imo (think stylistically Peter Forsberg-lite). Do I think he'll score at the rate Foppa did? No probably not, again I said stylistically, but he will eventually cement himself as a very good top 6 RW.

Trading him away for 'cap-clearing' purposes or upgrades elsewhere isn't the route this team should go.

You have to give to get and we obviously need a #2C, but you have to think to our glut at LW/D prospects before you even humor Kakko. I think you even move Fil for the 2C potential upgrade before you move Kakko.

Maybe i'm just a Kakko mark, who knows, but I feel like the majority of the above is grounded. (I SAID FOPPA LITE!!!! and a young Lehtonen is something you don't move either.)
He's another Nichishkin. Let's not see him become that somewhere else like Dallas did.

I honestly believe kakko needs to get in shape. That’s his biggest issue. He needs to work on his first step which honestly looked much better as an 18 year old than It did after getting drafted. Even in the euro leagues. He looks heavy. He’s got to work on his skating and separation. Once he gets going he’s fine. Mika had to learn what being a pro was too and when he did he became a star. Buchnevich too. JT Miller And many others. He’s not alone. But you can’t tell me kakko comes to camp in to shape. No way. Never.

Its always the issue of the power forward, they get used to being able to separate from dmen with their size when they're playing kids but when they start playing men they lose that ability and need to gain speed. He'll get it, hopefully before Drury gives up on him. Moving him is the wrong move.

Spitballing here. If we sign Trocheck, is Vatrano still a possibility to re-sign.

I can't help thinking Trocheck and Vatrano on forechecks would be a tremendous pain in the ass to play against.

It's possible, but there are just SO MANY good wingers available. Balfers, Motte, Raffl, Vatrano, Lindblom, Milano, Domi. There are more too.

I think it's a better question about what kind of shape. To think these guys aren't in great physical condition coming to camp is foolish...this isn't the 80's anymore.
Kakko's problem may be that he has spent too much time "getting stronger" and not enough working on his explosive skating.
That also said, I think it's more his confidence and instincts trying to hold onto the puck just a bit too long that is holding him back more than his skating

I actually think it’s quite reasonable for that to be Kakko’s trajectory. But Nichuschkin became that at 26. By the time Kakko hits 26, Panarin is gone and Zibanejad and Kreider are in wheelchairs.
