If Brown to Oilers was a thing, then I expect Kassian as a return

Otherwise, you are going to get bet Marchment and possibly Abdelkader

Kadri and Zaitsev = PK cap hit
don't hate the idea but doesn't really do anything towards resigning Marner, Kapanen and KJ

Yep, that's the issue there.

Also for Nashville if they were to move Subban I think that in part it would be to shed his contract.

The two young defenders that I would love to snag:

Dante Fabbro - Nashville
Phillipe Myers - Flyers

I would be willing to part with any combo of Johnsson, Kapanen, Kadri, Brown, and Bracco. If it's Nylander there would need to be an additional asset coming back.

Not the grittiest guy but he's definitely got a bit of grit and he happens to be a good player (unlike the players being mentioned in this thread).

Scott Laughton.

Myers and Laughton from the Flyers, for Kadri + 3rd seems to make sense for both teams, though Flyers fans don't seem to want to let Myers go.

Colorado has too many good defensemen to keep. They have no choice but to give away one or two of their big hitting defensemen... Zadorov (top 4), Cole(5), Nemeth(5th/6th defensemen), Johnson (4th/5th).

Many of the players here are dreadful players at this point, and way too ineffective to actually play that kind of role anymore. I've watched Simmonds quite a bit in Nashville, and you don't ever notice him out there. He's ineffective in every sense of the word.

Someone like Maroon would have made sense. Good enough to play in a role where his grit can actually have an impact. His value is pretty much at an all time high right now though.

On the opposite end Simmonds value would be at an all time low. I wouldn't hate him on a Tyler Ennis type deal.

I wouldn't mind a few of the guys listed. Nick Ritchie could be a good buy low as well. Ive always like Sam Bennett despite him not living up to his draft position. I think he'd be a solid #3 C if we were to move off Kadri.

Ok... Bored and there are too many moving parts here, but there is some humour and irony involved in this so...

Yep, that's the issue there.

Also for Nashville if they were to move Subban I think that in part it would be to shed his contract.

I think that’s a combination of 1 actual money owed and not wanting Subban on your team at 9 when trying to sell Josi on signing for cheaper.

Eugene buys him out (most of his salary will have already been paid by the leafs), because it is an over 35 contract, his salary goes towards the cap, while Eugene keeps the real money in his pocket. Marleau then signs a 1 year deal with the Sharks.

If we are giving up a pick and a good RHD prospect just to give up Marleau, and all we get back is a pick, then I rather just keep Marleau.
