Rangers would love to get Keller. Ain't happening in the near future.

But they'll certainly monitor him should there be any change in his availability, at just about any point in the next 10 years.

Any idea if the rangers are thinking of trading both krieder buch and a prospect for a top 6 young center?

$4m seems reasonable for Gusev. Wish the Rangers could find room for him
We could if we can get rid of Names. I'm sure Gorton is trying but Probably not much interest. Then again not sure if it would work with the cap since I believe Names only has one year left???

No, I actually have no idea who Shayna was here.
There was a poster, who was all about a particular player (Callahan? Dubinsky?) and I'm 99% that was her. There was a FB group that someone made and she posted on there and then people started being weird here because we have an awesome group that is incapable of being not creepy with a teenage girl.

The reporters will always want things sped up, because it creates fodder for them.

Reporters/columnists in general will always wait for a direction to emerge so they can take the opposite approach and gain an audience.

If a team decides to move right, they'll play that off against the option of going left, and vice versa.
I understand their agenda. Let's assume Carpinello is my proxy to address the hypocrisy between the frenzy of yesterday and the caution displayed today. The sudden sticker shock that we are witnessing. Maybe I don't want to provoke an argument here, so I'll blast the writer while I get my point across.

Whatever leverage we had a week ago is pretty much gone. Kreider, Namestnikov and possibly Buchnevich will be shopped and I doubt we get a steal. We may be buying out a defenseman and cap hits will bleed into the future for 4 years. There is no sense in making a splash over the last month with the intention of waiting 2 years to make a push.

Yes, this is exactly who I am thinking of. Shayna looks very much like that poster. She was a solid-if-dopey poster but was basically a kid. So that's cool if she became this good of a hockey writer

Can't say I've heard anything like that.

I think it's worth repeating that I don't believe the Rangers are shopping Buch, so much as listening. I think it's a key distinction to make.

I've received a lot of questions about why the Rangers would shop Buch, and I don't think that's quite accurate. They're not calling up teams and gauging said team's interest in Buch. But if another team calls them and inquires about his status, the Rangers haven't instinctively been shutting down the conversation. They'll listen, they'll engage, etc.

Vesey was being shopped. Pionk was being shopped. To a lesser extent Kreider was/and probably will be again.

Buch is a guy the Rangers would consider moving, if they felt the risk was worth it. He came close to going to Edmonton, but that was because the Rangers were willing to roll the dice on that scenarios. And like most instances, Edmonton can't seem to get out of its own way.

Yeah, it's cool to see people like her move on to bigger things. Even Kornandonions who I don't really like, he at least works hard. It's guys like PB that I always hope don't "make it" because they're lazy and full of made-up nonsense.

I don't think a steal was out there to be had. I'm not sure our options are all that different than they were a week ago. We weren't the team turning down the deals.

Thanks @Edge. I appreciate the insight as always. Do you think we would entertain a trade of krieder buch and a solid prospect like lindgren for a young potential #1 center or possibly to Edmonton for draisaitl?

Gotta wonder if Holland will be making that call asking for Buch now that he's missed out in FA. Too bad it's gonna cost him Trevor Zegras, but he'll have to figure that one out. :sarcasm:

so if someone offer sheets Buch are we getting a second or a first and third. It would hurt to lose him for just a second. He's probably now finding his comfort zone and one would think would improve with Panarin and Kravtsov around???
