Yeah but he still produced well in limited minutes. Thats going to work for him, not against him.

Yea but contracts dont work like that. Paced points are not real points. He is a 1 year 30 point dman. His first 2 years were garbage and I know it was limited playing time again but also this year he showed he was late to practice and just getting his act together. I dont see him getting more than 2m aav. Management will see it's to much of a risk to give him more and I'm sure he will gladly take double his contract aav for 2 years to prove he is more than that

Buch is our RFA that could be offer sheet. Could be a value offer sheet for teams.

It's wild that the Habs didn't offer sheet Marner. Now thats a team that would really have to jump through hoops to match a competitive offer. Offer sheeting Aho just pissed off other GM's and accomplishes nothing imo.

Ottawa is $1.5m under the floor. I know Smith is a better target after the bonus next summer but maybe... I'll say this, dude will battle. He could help take some heat and punishment for some of those kids. Pipe dream but I'm still hoping.

1) Marner would need to sign it
2) Marner would require 4 1st rounders which is crazy because Aho isn’t much below Marner IMo

I think Waddell is relieved, honestly. The offer sheet is a positive for him, not a negative.

For a year. Because it was his QO, but the fact that it hasn’t happened yet makes me wonder if they’re negotiating a multi-year deal for less dollars per year.
What would you feel comfortable adding to smith? Because he has some serious negative value.

On a bridge? Yeah I think 2-2.5 is fair.

Which is more than the 1.5 you were initially stating.

Ottawa is $1.5m under the floor with 16 skaters under contract and Colin White to sign. In other words, they’re not under the floor. Plenty of cap space though to take on a “who cares” contract. Except the owner is tight fisted.

You pay a player biased on his past performance not what his future COULD become.

Jimmy Vesey got 2+ when his high in points was 28.

DeAngelo eclipsed that in fewer games last year as a defenseman. I mean I'd be pretty shocked if he only gets 1.5 on a bridge deal.

I can see that for Lemieux, though thats a bit higher than I see him signing for (1.25)

I’m a little surprised Brian Boyle hasn’t signed somewhere yet. Same goes for Michael Ferland. I really thought both of those guys would be day 1 guys.

If Ferland’s price drops to something reasonable, like what Donskoi or Connolly signed for, I’d look at him.

Realllly depends on who they send out.

I'd take him for 2 years max.

Yes but vesey also was better defense defensively, didnt have maturity issues, played in the playoffs. I'd be shocked if he gets more than 1.5 on a bridge but we will see. But I'm in the camp of giving them bridge deals and seeing how they do but we also need to be frugal with our cap money bc 1m here and there and that's the difference of being able to sign a player, make a trade, whatever. So we will see what happens

We're like 8M over the cap with the RFA's signed right now. If we signed him we would not even be able to sign any of our RFA before trading players.

This is objectively false.

I'd love to sign ferland too but with what cap money? we have no room. We need to make trades to free up space
