I'm still against this move philosophically but I will hold off on final judgment until the Kreider situation irons itself out. If they can flip him for a young, upside center I might be able to talk myself into being OK with this.

The Cup is still won down the middle and on D. Those are still this team's weaknesses. I think the D can be pretty good relatively soon. They need another legit center though, no doubt about it.

On NHL radio this morning they spoke about him being one of the most physically fit individuals in the NHL. He is a fitness freak.

Again, I'm not a fortune teller so who knows how he holds up. Being fit and training contribute to that. The 4 year NHL career is a strange thing to highlight. It's a bias that every other league is easy compared. There are animals in the KHL just like here. He's had a healthy career, I'm not concerned about his longevity.

To play devils advocate, we heard this about St Louis when the Rangers traded for him. But he was much older when he came here as well.

Well we know two things now...Rebuild is over (meaning a top 8ish pick next year is bye bye) and CK has to be a gone unless for some crazy reason he and the Rangers are having an amazing year by the TDL and they keep him.
