Reinhart-Mcdavid-marner
Konecny-Mackinnon-scheifele
Strome-point-bedard
Hagel-crosby-stone

So many D better than parayko and doughty this year...

Good lesson for TD moves... speed is what matters in todays nhl - crosby marchand and stone dont have it this year

2 of those players are American. 1 of them just played for the US in this game.

As much as you want to hate the Tkachuk's for their on-ice antics or what have you, I really enjoy their interviews. They actually give you something of worth and not just cliches or hockeyisms. They speak with a genuinity which goes against the over fabricated media training that most hockey players default to.

So, I guess what I'm saying is F**k those Tkachuks.

As long as they win in regulation time....if Canada or Finland win in OT and Sweden beats USA in regulation time. then Sweden would advance
ahh got it, Thank you!!!!

so there is a chance Canada falls to 4th spot still (s*!+) 😅

That’s going to be a disaster

Yeah Canada should just pick the best on best players in short tournaments.
Don’t over think
oh checking line grinder line. Shut down line.
If the line 1 gets checked and cant find a way to score. You need guys on line 3 and 4 that can do some damage also.

I didn’t know hurt and relieve can co exist at the same time.
But this photo makes me feel that way 😅😅

Helly yeah!!

Just me or is poor Josh having trouble figuring out what Parayko is doing half the time?
No! It is not just you. Guy gets no help.

I can't understate how much I hate the way Team Canada is managed and coached.

What strikes me the most is how ineffective Canada's defense was at pushing the play. A Scott Arniel team has Josh Morrissey attacking and pressuring all over the ice. A Jon Cooper team is like watching the Maurice-Huddy 2019/2020 Jets where the defense mostly keeps the puck in front of them unless they break down.

No speed. No finish. Maybe Montreal fans can't handle cheering for a star like Scheifele. I still can't see why he isn't there.

And then when all else fails goaltending will.

I hope this team loses to Finland so Hockey Canada has to look at different people to run the Olympic team

End of rant.

Staged fights were not capturing 1996 animosity. They should have had one per period at least instead of 3 in 15 seconds. I fell asleep in the 2nd period thinking I was watching Minnesota-Anaheim in the 2003 playoffs.

ok that's the end of my rant.

If Bettman would have kept the Jets in Winnipeg instead of moving them to Phoenix the Tkachuk bothers were be playing on Team Canada.
I don't think so, they would have been like Brett Hull, dual citizens and most likely play for team USA. They grew up in St. Louis (this is assuming Keith still ends up playing for the Blues).

My guess is that in such a short tournament with zero prep time the coaches generally defer to more conservative tactics. In a regular season there is a lot more runway to push the dmen into play while the forwards get used to their switches.

To me it's more the inability to transition the puck cleanly that is the issue. So many missed easy passes, poor support, and reads that is leading to the team having to slow down in the nz and that allows the opposition to set.

Not gonna lie. I don’t mind Helle looking real good in the USA net.

Team Canada needs to change the lines up a bit.

Bennett-McDavid-Point
Hagel-McKinnon-Reinhart
Marchand-Crosby-Stone
Jarvis-Cirelli-Marner
Konecny

Got to get Mack and McJesus going. Marner is invisible for most of this tournament. Without his OT winner, would anyone remember he’s even playing??

You have to wonder how out of control the egos are in the Team Canada management/coaching brass that they'd rather select two .897 goalies and a .900 goalie in the roster over a Vezina contending .921 goal. You can't put your differences aside for 4 games?

I almost think no active NHL GMs/Executives or Coaches should be involved with Team Canada international events, there is way too much conflict of interest and biases involved. Would rather have seen Bruce Boudreau and Gerard Gallant being the coaches as they are not beholden to any NHL team and don't have the pull to block a guy from the roster just because they don't like him. Similarly, Team Canada would have been better off with former GMs like David Poile rather than Doug Armstrong selecting players from his club over players like Weeger.

Yeah, I agree. The Americans turtled for the entire third period and the game was there for the taking, but holy shit are we working with one hand behind our back with some of these roster decisions.

Should be Thompson, Kuemper and Blackwood instead of the schmucks we got in goal.

Can't imagine those cocky, arrogant American bros being Canadian. Not too pleased that the family has a Winnipeg connection. Couldn't stand the old man, but these kids are worse.
