Probably looking too much into it and I'm by no means a lip reader, but they had a shot of Sid and Marchand talking between periods and Sid was miming a shooting motion and sorta grimaced and shrugged. Dunno if he was saying he can't put a lot on his shots due to his wrist, or he was saying he wishes he got more on that chance he had in the slot that got saved. /shrug
Posted the same thing in the salary cap thread. Main notable is the tape on his left wrist, so, yeah.

Logan Thompson must be some kinda scumbag for Canada to pass on him being in goal for f***ing Jordan Binnington.
Yea, and all Blackwood has done is come in and save Colorado's season and then totally sink the Sharks right back down to by far the worst in the league after leaving.

No Rakell is interesting. If that's Team Sweden doing us a solid and protecting a trade asset then that suggests Rakell might actually be under consideration for being moved this TDL.

Or did I miss something and he's hurt/sick?

Friedman said Team Sweden had flu issues so could just be that I suppose

First couple minutes they were great. The short bench with Brady being hurt now is not great. As good as Sanderson is he’s definitely a downgrade from McAvoy.

The PA guy telling the crowd to respect the anthems is sure to stop 20,000 rowdy Canadians from booing the Star Spangled Banner under the current circumstances.

*dusts off hands and walks away*
The fact that a bunch of twats can't understand why Canadians are mad and have every f***ing right to be mad, makes those criticizing it absolute dipshits.

The fact that a bunch of morons can't keep politics out of sports by booing make people who bless such behavior absolute dipshits

How do you have a national anthem playing at a sporting event be apolitical, exactly?

I don't know about NHL but I know NFL gets government money for their pregame ceremonies because it is good for military recruitment.

Good luck on that having people not associate a national anthem with the current government of a country thing. It is an uphill battle.

Got up at 3:30 AM on Monday and drove the 8.5 hours (With terrible lake effect conditions for 5) from Rochester to Boston with my Son and Daughter to catch the 1pm Canada vs Finland. They wore their Crosby jerseys, I sported my Lemieux. We saw McDavid, MacKinnnon and Crosby all score a goal for Team Canada. Jumped back in the car and then drove the 7 hours back home with better road conditions and got home at Midnight. An experience my kids and I will never forget! But man am I tired today.

I'll ask the same question in reverse: how is any national anthem "political"? It's a song of a country that is played when Olympic Medals are won.

People want to bastardize a neutral event (the song) and make whatever idiotic political statement that suits them because of "feelings"

Remember in 2007 when we played Ottawa and the Pittsburgh crowd boo'd the Canadian anthem? Well the best player on our team was <checks notes> Canadian.

I mean if people want to show their ignorance and their asses, have at it. But don't justify bad behavior because of your own political preferences.

And if you truly want to get cast stones, the Canadian PM wore blackface back in the day. But we don't talk about that bc Canadians are so polite or something something...
