It was weird watching team USA sit on that lead in the third Pens style but unlike the Pens they easily shut it down. I guess having Hellebuyck and that team helps. Canada had no answers.
The US were more physical than Canada and just as fast. The Penguins are rarely more physical than their opponents because they're trying to be faster and its hard to do both in the NHL, and they're rarely as comparatively fast they want to be either.
There can be a question of whether a different style would help a less talented team, but at this point the talent level looks like there's not a whole lot that'd help it.
And then there's the question as to how much Sullivan has to do with the team arriving at this talent level (although from what I can tell, not a huge amount).
But I always suspected his philosophy and coaching would hold up with a strong level of talent. So far that looks true.
