Trying to keep politics from this thread. That said, everyone keeping up with this tournament and the recent goings on between the US and Canada politically know what's up. I'm allowing the Cooper quote to stay because whether we want to admit it or not, Canadian players have a lot to play for tonight. The pride of their country, their sport and all of the great men and women that made Canada a great nation (no matter what your opinion of the country and politics today is). This game means much more to Canadians IMO, let's hope that the boys pull it off and gives Canada something to be proud of.

In terms of deep thought.

Thank you for being reasonable. :)

Hockey always means more to canada. To the US it would be more like winning an important Olympic medal. Cool to win at hockey but they forget in a few days.

For people in Canada it means more. With our lower population all the merch and things you could sell off a win for Canada would beat what Americans would bother to get to celebrate a win

More fuel to the fire. Cmon boys, please beat these arrogant pricks.

I'll let this post stand since it has a lot of quotes from a number of different players and a number of them aren't political. Let's just try and refrain from making this thread political. One thing of note was MacKinnon acknowledging that Connor is the best player in the league in spite of him being the reigning Hart winner.

I'm not sure if in a typical situation that it would mean more to the players, but in this case I really believe that to be the case.

I should clarify I am talking about the fans. Canadians as a population care more than the us. As a team who knows I am not in the locker room
We should see who it means more to on the ice. The problem is that team USA is built bigger and grittier so a lot of players that aren't used to playing that way will have to for Canada to win this. And of course we need solid goaltending.

Alright, I calmed down. No more politics, I just want good hockey.

Del just disappeared one day. One of those guys that was well liked but just decided to up and leave., Who knows, maybe something or someone here he didn't want to be around, or maybe he just decided to move on and live life. Wherever he is, hope he's doing well.
He stopped by after the oilers beat the flames and iirc said he had lots of stuff going on in life.

Hope he’s doing well

All about the merch.

(Trying to convince Gary?)

Well if anything... this whole political thing and Trump has really made hockey the sport to watch right now and the exposure the league is getting is great. It's also really brought all Canadians together... even Flame fans are cheering for McDavid now.. and I'm cheering for guys like Mark Stone.

LFG Canada!

The us is a better built team.

I almost think they took mcdavid because they were forced too, not because they realized being blessed with mcd, McKinnon and an old Crosby we could have the top two lines in the tournament.

And with goalies I get picking one of biddington or hill early because people like to say well they got hot once in their career maybe again. But they should have kept a spot or two open for any hot goalie to make it in since goalie is now the Canada weakness

The four nations cup is far better than the all stars game I have always joked for years that it so one thing the cfl gets right is an all star team should be ceremonial and never played

This tournament has some level of interest and once I realized it meant no all star break I was this is even better as I can't be bothered with a weekend all star scrimmage game
