I was so F'N happy that Canada won last night. Great game. I was especially happy the Avs players showed well throughout the tournament.

One thing I am very unhappy about is that with is performance in OT TrashBin has put himself as the front runner for the Olympics. He was almost replaced for the Finland game. The only reason he was given that game after being very average in the other games is because Cooper wanted his puck handling. The only thing I have to say is I hope Blackwood works on his puck handling so it doesn't become an issue in deciding the next starter. Fortunately Blackwood is pretty good at that also but hopefully he gets even better at it.

I definitely ain’t mad at Binner right now. I mean, I’m calling him “Binner”. Crazy what a 180 you can do on a guy when he does that for your country lol.

Petey doesn't give Cale much credit for his part in the sequence, he's rather blasé about Cale passing along to boards to Marner. Yet, it's a good breakdown of the breakdown.
Anybody could fire the puck down the boards. Manson and EJ would do that without even thinking twice.

Frail Cale would normally try some dipsy doodling and give the puck away. Never a positive Corsi without MacK on the ice.

Obviously I am happy that he did great during OT last night. He made some great saves although the one against B. Tkatchuk is well overrated. That puck he shot front the goal line was not going in. It was going across the crease. However I am still OK with giving him Koodos for his OT play.

With that said of the 10 goals against at least 4 of them were weak to bad goals. We need somebody better for the Olympics. I hope Blacky (and/or Hill) keeps it up with the Avs until they decide the Canadian roster.

Team Canada's combined roster won about 20 cups while Team USA's combined roster won something like 3... Championship pedigree and Star power won the day for Canada. McDavid, Mackinnon, Crosby and Makar were difference makers, while Eichel, Matthews, Hughes simply weren't. Their team game was great, Hellebuyck didn't choke and Slavin was extraordinary, but it didn't prevent them from ending their tournament with two straight losses. Amazing tournament!

I'm so f***ing pissed. Had to watch the game on a delay, and when I skipped the intermission between the 3rd period and OT, the Fubo app just brought it to live and it was the highlights from the game. So I missed the entire OT and USA lost.

f*** me what a way to end the night
Fubo is fubar, what a garbage app.

I thought Toews was bad last night, fighting the puck a ton and some poor decisions
He and Cale were under attack a lot and it led to some unsmoothness, but Toews was good last night when it counted. Nothing fancy, just a lot of neutralizing guys along the boards and slowing down attacks.

The US tkachek bros line with Matthews had too much size for the toews-makar pairing. Thankfully thats not realistic of a line to have in the NHL. In the olympics, we probably need a bigger partner for Makar.

Can't believe how many actually believe Binnington is good now from like 10 minutes of play. That guy is **** and shouldn't sniff the Olympics team.

Damn I'll give him props for his wife though...
Looks like he’s got more game on tinder than he does on the ice lol.

But in all seriousness, he was average to below for the tourney… But to show the level of clutch he did in ot says a lot about him as a player. The states tried to get under his skin but he wouldn’t bite. Props to him for his big game showmanship, and thanks for willing us to victory in ot.

Did y'all see McAvoy walking in and reading the lineup card? That weird looking dude was throwing huge Bud Cort vibes, and that's something you never want to be accused of.

Toews was saddled with lousy forwards last night, because he and Makar were rarely on the ice with the Tourney MVP. McDavid played no better than Parker Kelly in regulation last night, and we know that bad forwards make the D look bad. And vice versa.

Lousy forwards? On team Canada? The 4th liners are 1st liners.

I thought Toews was great until last night.

OK? Good argument lol, I didn't

That's obviously a huge success but honestly I'm kinda surprised it's still less than game 7 of the cup finals.

Plenty of non-hockey fans here watched the game, even though they don't care about the playoffs. On the other hand you'd think everyone who cares enough to watch a playoff game tuned in yesterday.

So yeah, surprising.
