But ELCs are 3 years and he's played 2 full NHL seasons. Capfriendly says 19-20 counted as an ELC year but he spent the entirety of it in the KHL.

Entry level slide didn't apply because he signed it on July 13th when he was 20 and it was before the new season started. Same thing happened with Jake Sanderson this year.

This is a good trade for both sides:

To Islanders: Miller (with 40% retained this season, then signed to 7 year $7.85 million per season), PoolMan, Foccht, Briesbois, 2024 4th

To Vancouver: Dobson, 2023 2nd, 2025 3rd
Cant see the Islanders trading Dobson. Big, young potential #1 RHD.

Dude if Islanders get the feeling that Barzal wants to move on I would go all in for him from the Flames point of view.

Coronato, Zary, Kylington and 2025 1st rd pick.

he had 62 pts in 68 games last year - sorry 0.91 PPG and he brings way more than just scoring.
PPG means nothing unless he does it for a complete season. He had 62 points. Still not a bad season but a player can slump so .91 PPG over 3/4 of the season doesn't automatically make him a .91 PPG over 82 games

Weekes' tag should not be the same as the other insiders. How was this decided upon? It should be the same color as the Eklund Rumor tag, and be called "Weekes Clickbait"

I won't stand for this Weekes slander! He made it, I've already posted the song and there is no reversing that.

Nelson and Barzal are completely different players. Barzal’s play style is a puck possession, play driving style of game. He is the center of the Islanders offense no matter who you ask across the board. The gets room to play a more offensive style of play instead of the recent defensive system and his production will shoot up. Barzal getting premier matchups with the oppositions defense ultimately is what it comes down to. Teams tend to zero in on him because of how dynamic he is as a player.
Is Lamberts system going to be more open than Trotz had them playing? I was almost expecting a similar system given how long Lambert has been an assistant under Trotz.

What do you think is fair for a highly paid ~65-70pt C in Barzal?
I’m not trading him so, and Barzal is highly paid? Also, I don’t factor in his point totals when he was in a Trotz system for the last couple of seasons.

Lou was no stranger to overpayment in Toronto.
Yeah, Dubas really showing how it’s done! Lol yikes

They'd be in alot better shape if he was still around. Dubas overpaid all their stars.
...and obviously Lou isn't one to overpay players.
