I don't believe Subban for a second. Dude comes off a Norris win and says he'd sign long term for $7M a year? I don't buy it. It would have been a poor decision for him to make.

Obviously Bergevin, Therrien and Molson handled the whole thing poorly, but I don't believe this happened the way PK mentioned it.

I believe this 100 percent. But there's more to this story that Subban isn't sharing here, but I absolutely believe that Subban would have signed for $7 million per season had a conversation he had with ownership at that time gone a different way.

There is stuff he is leaving out, and I understand why, but there's no question in my mind, based on what I already know, that he is telling the truth.

Regardless of the real story, the one thing that is apparent is that the Habs didn't see this guy as part of their future or the type of player they wanted on their club.

It's a pity because the post-Subban era has had 0 passion outside a lucky, stars-aligned, playoff run.

To this day, he's still the most electrifying player the habs have had in 30 years.

What I beleive is that he never felt the organization wanted him......that's the main point

Well he did sign 2.8M bridge and that was crazy low for that time. He was already averaging over 24min/game so I don't think it's that unbelievable that Bergevin played it better, he would have signed cheaper. Keep in mind, he signed around the arbitration time, basically the worst time for extension.

I do believe had the organization been better with him (give him space and resources to grow his personal brand and were more committed to him) he would have signed for much less than 9.5M. Bergevin misplayed his hand and the organization simply wasnt ready to handle a player like Subban. The whole situation was mismanaged. From a business perspective, Molson should have leverged Subban and his personality more, would have generated more revenue for him.

Just wanted to say, I was watching the habs get dummied by Wash a couple of nights ago.... our former boy Lars. Good kid, turned out to be a really freaking solid player, was mismanaged so hard at MTL so I'm really happy that he got out of the tire fire that was MTL. Guys got a ring now and a freaking A on his jersey.

Good shit lars.... good shit.
You are missed for sure.

Lehkonen needs 5 goals, 3 assists, and 7 points to beat his career high in each of those categories.

32 points in 40 games.

It's not a career high,he had 38 last season.
You're right. Not sure why the total (for last season) was listed above for only him. Completely missed that even though I knew he got nearly 40 last year in the back of my head lol whoops!

Bournival sharing he had suicidal thoughts when he was with the Canadiens organization in St. John when they're affiliate was there for two years.

He said he was 31 hours away from home. He felt alone and it was heavy and he wasn't able to produce on the ice. His apartment was a shithole where the heating would work 1 every 3 days.

He's doing well now and is happy he never went through with it because now he has his kids and he's happy he found health in his life now.

Sad to hear what he went through. And happy to hear he's doing better now.

More and more that we learn, concussions are no joking matters as we have seen by everything that happened in sport. And yet here are was a situation where someone was still hiding it to continue playing. Poor guy I cannot imagine what he must have gone through. I cannot imagine living there but living there with that condition...! But that explains so much how he was playing so well and how he dropped so suddenly. Several of these moments where he is getting hit on the ice, I remember them quite well, it did felt like he wasn't taking them well. And more and more it felt like he had trouble avoiding them. Maybe cause he wasn't that quite "there".

But he was always a great kid and seeing him having a family and doing well at school is great.
