I keep seeing "they wouldn't have drafted him anyhow" as a "defense" of Benning on Twitter ("we were bad at identifying talent anyhow" shouldn't be much of a defense), but... is this actually true?Dylan Guenther with two goals in the opener tonight against Chicago. At the time I know he was the guy everyone was talking about as likely to be in the Canucks' slot. I know that draft was wonky to begin with, but he was definitely the name I was hearing most about going in.
