Yeah, how much time of Stamkos career post leg break have we spent trying to find the best linemates for him 5 on 5...?

I'll never forget the days of Killorn-Stamkos-Callahan, with a bit of Filppula in the mix sometimes. Although I'd like to.
I mean, there is that one crazy season where Kucherov didn't play and Stamkos scored over 100. But in general, finding chemistry for him has been a futile endeavor.

Looks like another great year for the Yzerplan
Yzerman is having a reverse issue in Detroit compared to Tampa: in Tampa, he was mostly underwhelming with his 1st round picks, the picks where he has more input, but Al Murray saved his ass with a ton of 2nd-7th round steals, whereas in Detroit, Yzerman's 1st round drafting looks much better, but he's not hitting on any 2nd-7th round picks so far, which you need to accelerate getting out of a rebuild.

Koepke currently is a point per game and is tied for the highest +/- in the league. I thought he played really well down the stretch for Syracuse and even into the playoffs but didn't think he looked this good. He will probably slow down but should be a solid bottom 6 player for Boston. Honestly kind of liked him more than Chaffee last year but Chaffee has also played well to start this year. Still waiting for Groshev to get his call up, he is the one to watch imo.

Koepke never looked comfortable/in sync in Tampa. Hard to be in your first NHL action with no linemate chemistry and limited opportunities.

Killorn with no points to start the season with either, some players you know to move on from others are Ryan McDonagh.

I am happy for Colton but not particularly worried about him going off. Of any young forward we have had, he was the one we graced with the most opportunities for success. If he pops off like a Verhaeghe or JAM I'll be shocked. And God knows I'm the first to complain about the Lightning approach to prospect development. I'm counting the days til management says "Geekie could be playing top minutes in Syracuse right now!" and we don't see him again this year

Colton on day 1 of his NHL career was closer to his peak than 90% of players. It's easy to see what you have in him, it's not as if there was ever some untapped potential in him, like there was in Verhaeghe and Marchessault. If he "pops off", it's not because he's suddenly reached some new level, it's because he's started playing with MacKinnon and Rantanen.

Heat is starting to build on Stamkos in the media. It's sad because they should have known what Nashville was getting if they'd had a reporter or two spend ANY amount of time watching TB games in the last two years.

Let me come out and say "DFC was right"

I maintained all of last season that the team was distracted by the Stamkos contract situation. There may or may not have been a degree of truth in my observation. But what I can't account for is each of Paul and Cirelli seemingly growing an extra brain and extra pair of eyes for themselves. They haven't played like this in years... it appears the coaching staff has taken the choke leash off the offense too but that by itself doesn't explain the fluidity of the 2nd line. Holy shit Stamkos really was the problem and I somehow either didn't see it or my frustration with Cirelli and Paul wouldn't let me

I might be a headache to read but I'll always admit when I'm wrong
