The Jets haven't soured on any of these guys they just don't have many/any spots for them on the roster.

Alex Burmistrov
Marko Dano
Joel Armia
Jansen Harkins
Scott Kosmachuk
Andrew Copp
Brendan Lemieux?
Nic Petan?

Higher cost for Petan/Lemieux

Needs:

Near NHL ready LHD
Taking Mark Stuart or potentially Pavelec in a deal would certainly help us
Prospects who are a few years away?
Picks?

Don't need:
Forwards
Goalies

Marko Dano intrigues me if the cost is reasonable. Wotherspoon would fit as an NHL ready LHD. He's not a top 4 guy, but has been good in cups of coffee.

Montreal has a surplus of LHD (currently in NHL)

And imo, need to get some more forward prospects.

I think the left-side will look like:

Beaulieu
Markov
Emelin
Redmond
*Sergachev (also plays right-side, but has been left-side in camp)

*if he makes the team

Sergachev is going nowhere. Does Winnipeg have interest in Emelin? (or have the countless "Emelin to" threads depreciated his actual value)

Have enough of those already.

Not sure any of those name would bring us what we need. We need a real top LHD, and none of those or any combination would bring us that....

I would be very, very interested in Marko Dano from the Sharks but I assume you'd be after Vlasic and I don't think you'd be comfortable giving up what I'd want for him.

The Flyers have 3 UFA LHD who could be available. In order of value:

MDZ ($3.875m cap hit, $4m salary)
Streit ($5.25m cap hit, $2m salary, NTC)
Schultz ($2.25m cap hit)

Something like MDZ for Stuart + forward prospect could help both teams.

No interest in taking on Emelin's salary. ELC for ELC (or cheap contracts, whatever).

I really like Joel Armia and Nic Petan, but I don't know if the Islanders have anything of interest to you. Maybe Adam Pelech but I'd be hesitant to trade him until expansion.

I think the OP forgot to say that goalie prospects are welcome (sorry, I just happen to love Söderström). Pelech is also decent. I don't think I'll give you Petan for Pelech, but Armia wouldn't be that bad. A good bottom six guy who works very hard on both ends of the ice.

Oh boy, that would be a very good deal for us... Which prospect though? Lemieux, Dano or someone else? (figured you would need those two the most)

Don't bring Vlasic in to this discussion, please. Everyone should roughly know what the players mentioned in the OP should fetch, and Vlasic is not that. But maybe Mirco Mueller would be a fit? I assume Roy is off limits.

Do you really need goalie prospects? I mean, I'd happily trade Soderstrom, but I don't know for what. We have a lot of goalie prospects, especially if Sorokin ends up signing in 2018.

Well, we need them more than forwards. We have Hellebuyck who will probably be the starter long term, then Comrie who has the potential, but after that, the competition just disappears. Phillips got signed, which is good, but his ceiling is much lower than Helle's and Comrie's, and Berdin is very far away from making any impact. The situation is not bad, but it's very far from ideal.

Söderström is playing in the SHL next year, after which he could jump over to the AHL to create competition for Comrie/be the starter, should Comrie be in the NHL (unlikely). I'd happily give a forward prospect of some kind for him.

Soderstrom's tenure with the Islanders will all depend on Sorokin. If Sorokin shows up, I'm sure he's expendable. If he doesn't, he becomes our best goalie prospect. I think Sorokin eventually comes over, but if he doesn't then Soderstrom won't be traded.

Some of the names on the OP list wouldn't realistically be available.

Burmistrov? Sure.
Maybe Dano/ Armia, maybe.
Perhaps even Petan - given the climb he faces in the depth chart.

The others don't carry much value and needn't be sold prior to discovering their asset values.

Doubt that Lemieux would ever make that list for example; he has a better chance of spending at least some time in the Jets NHL lineup this season.

Despres for Lowry rehash offer.

Lowry, Armia, Dano, Burmistrov, Lemieux, Petan..could see the Ducks have varying interest in any of those guys to give them a look on the third line this year.

Jets need to sit Stuart, but they don't need to pay to dump his salary. They have plenty of cap space. No real interest in MDZ or any other pending UFA.

I'd like Lemieux and Dano on the Penguins :)

We are not going to find an agreement. But I can definitely see why you say that...

Third time saying yes to that deal. Hard to say what you could give to us for those guys though.

How likely is it... I want it more than anything else this year, but I don't think Maurice will bench Stuart. If there was a way to get him out of the team, and acquire MDZ in the process for this year, I wouldn't be against it at all.

What type of D man are you looking for?

Young bottom pairing ones, or higher potential prospects for the better guys. Think of defenseman comparables to those forwards/prospects, basically.

In my Nemeth/Oleksiak thread, someone mentioned the idea of Nemeth for Burmistrov. Gives you a capable LD who is D oriented and gives us a young depth winger who is Russian and could buddy up with Nuke

I still think Burmistrov has some potential, and could be a good fit on the Oilers.

What exactly are you looking for? Anything of interest?
