And Flacco is backing him up. Wilson getting a hard reset on his season.

I still think within the next few weeks he is back on the field.
I think some of that will depend on how white does. If white tanks and we start losing more games. Then yup wilson sees the field. The point about the fundamentals is 100% correct. Wilson needs to figure out why he's got a cannon for an arm but can't hit swing passes or crossing routes.

We’re this far into the season and I still have no idea what the Giants should do at QB going forward. In hindsight they should’ve picked up Jones’s fifth year option, but who saw this season coming?

That being said, he really just doesn’t make things happen down the field. He’s a good game manager who can make plays with his legs, but he just doesn’t make a whole lot happen down the field, even when the play is available. Then again, outside of Slayton his receivers are rotten. Losing Bellinger, and now Robinson is really hurting the passing game.

So what do you do? This QB draft class isn’t as good as everyone hoped, and you don’t want to take a QB because you have to, but do you really want to sign Jones to a long term deal? To me he’s a good bridge to the next QB, but if you’re in his position why would you accept that when you could probably go her a starter somewhere?
I don’t disagree in principle but how is Daniel Jones supposed to make anything happen down field when he’s throwing to who he’s throwing to.

If I had to guess, he will be back after 3 games, unless Mike White goes 2-1 in the next 3 games, or just looks very good.

I expect the Jets to go 1-2, I don’t see them winning in Minnesota or Buffalo.

That’s the other side of the argument. The organization completely screwed him and now we’re at a point where they have to pay him or drop him and we still have the same questions.

I don’t think Jones is the guy long term, but he got screwed by the organization.

A good game against the Bears could have done wonders for Wilson and his confidence.I personally would have stuck with him.

Okay after all the flak Zach has rightfully gotten , it’s now up to Lafleur to get his head out of his ass because that was one of the worst called games ever by an OC he did Zach no favors. It was constantly 3rd and long before you could blink.

Lafleur isn’t the issue. When every team knows that the only way the jets will win is by rushing, it’s 10 men in the box.
Our oline is incredibly banged up, so even one extra man in the box hurts.
There’s so many wide open receivers on the all-22. Wilson is just missing them.

It’s not mlf

Wilson threw for 350+ yards against NE in the first game. The turnovers were a problem, but that needed to be cleaned up, not changed into a playbook where the mantra was "if there's any doubt whatsoever, throw the ball away." Also, if you look at last season, when Wilson came back much improved from his injury? That injury also coincided with the hiring of Wilson's old QB coach. Immediately afterwards, the turnovers went WAY down, the TDs (both passing and rushing) went way up. The best stretch of Wilson's young career came when the job was taken away from MLF.

That's what happens when the Pats know they can stack the box on Wilson. Lafleur isn't the problem at all. It's no surprise that any other QB besides Wilson over the last couple of years has been able to run his offense without an issue.

Again, the best football of Wilson's NFL career came last year when the job of working with him was taken away from Lafleur. There have been issues this year with MLF and Wilson, MLF and Moore, MLF and Mims. At some point, you have to look at the common denominator. Kurt Warner posted a video the other day where he literally broke down nearly every single pass in the NYJ/NE game. He didn't completely excuse Wilson's play at all, but he highlighted the serious flaws in the play calling and route-running.

Lafleur is in over his head, was elevated to OC WAY too early in his career, and he's screwing up the best chance this team has at QB right now. The best move IS to sit Wilson for a couple of games, but it has to come with a fix on the core of the problem. If that means bringing John Beck back (who actually knows how to work with a QB), then so be it.

lmao I hope this was done on purpose- low key dissing american fb and the term soccer lol

I did that as a teenager once. ESPN ran a poll on the best football players of all time, and I wrote in Pele. Enough other people did the same, and Pele made the top 10. They used the blurb that I had written in the article, haha. I was a snarky little shit as a teenager.

Edit: Holy shit, it's still on the internet, haha: ESPN.com - Page2 - The List: Readers' most beloved football players

Agree to disagree. I guarantee White will do a better job running Lafleur's offense, starting this week.

As I said, when Wilson can't even complete a simple screen pass, that's not on Lafleur or the coaches.

Jets have missed on too many QBs and passed on known good QBs to think it is not on the GM or coaching staff. That's why it'd be best to stick with a decent veteran and get playmakers and build the defense.
This regime has drafted 1 QB. Franchise hasn’t found a guy in 50 years, but it’s not all on this regime.

Edit: They did draft Morgan in the 4th but he was never a legit starting option.

I'm not referring to just Joe Douglas but what has he done better than Idzik or Maccagnan?

Darnold had a much better OL with the Panthers, a stud RB in Christian Maccafrey and Robbie Anderson from his rookie year and still sucked.
Panthers are a disaster, but Darnold wasn’t ever going to be the guy here. He just doesn’t have the arm talent and still turns the ball over.

We went from benching Zach is the last thing on the coaches to mind to 24 hours later everything is on the table.

Woody has entered the chat.
In fairness, a lot goes into these decisions. They aren’t going to cast doubt on their QB right after a game. I don’t see what else you could’ve asked for. Show confidence in your guy and evaluate.

Can't make things happen deep if you dont have dependable pass blocking and a decent WR group. Coaches are trying to keep him standing.

Always thought they should have drafted Josh Allen instead of Darnold.
