Even after that he had an open receiver at the first down marker when he was scrambling, a short pass with pretty clear line of sight until it wasn’t. Hes running to his left so not SUCH an easy throw but one he should be able to make. He’s playing nervous and scared to make a mistake.

Watching all jet QBs and ex-QBs makes me realize we should have kept Pete Carroll after all. If he could resurrect the career of Geno Smith imagine what he could've done for Sam and Zach.

Saleh is a great coach. Wilson is the only thing holding back the entire team.
Im not even putting this on douglas, wilson was the consensus qb2 in that draft(after fields started dropping) and the jags werent gonna move off lawrence.
QB drafting can be voodoo at times. No one can consistently call which qb's will be sucessful and which won't.

Jets have missed on too many QBs and passed on known good QBs to think it is not on the GM or coaching staff. That's why it'd be best to stick with a decent veteran and get playmakers and build the defense.

I mean the only QB from the '21 draft could be fields but he's not shown that he's that great a QB.
This organization under douglas hasn't missed on "many" qb's. Darnold was a failure of the previous regime, and Im still under the belief had darnold had the Line and WR's we had this year, in his rookie year, darnold would've been a star. Darnold is the one we failed to develop. Wilson is the one who didnt develop.

The defense has been built, now we just need to keep it. The problem with getting a vet QB, is that 1 . they need big big bucks, and 2. No one is trading a Quality QB who's not on the older side, and 3. It becomes a short term solution without any real answer.

So in theory, we give up a 1st and 2nd for someone like Carr. He's got a decent sized contract now. He's 31 already. and now we also don't have a 1st and 2nd to add to our Oline and LB corps.

We're going to be too low in the draft to move up, and this seems like a bad draft to even try that considering how many teams need QB's and are sitting in the top 5.

Garapollo isnt a bad idea but he's gonna want 3+ years and a big payday. And you then are again looking QB for 3 years down the line, and he's not going to win any games, he just wont lose any like zach just did.

Thats really the list of QB's we might be able to acquire this off season.

The good and bad is we have a championship(top 3) level defense. A WR room that could be top 5 in the league.
When he gets back to 100% a top 5 RB.
An offensive line with at least 1 pro-bowler, and a GM whos going to keep building it.

We have a coaching staff.

The hardest part is now getting the QB.

Zach Wilson sucks. Daniel Jones is competent but I doubt he leads a SB winning team. Giants should resign him short term while they look to upgrade.

I'm not referring to just Joe Douglas but what has he done better than Idzik or Maccagnan?

Darnold had a much better OL with the Panthers, a stud RB in Christian Maccafrey and Robbie Anderson from his rookie year and still sucked.

We went from benching Zach is the last thing on the coaches to mind to 24 hours later everything is on the table.

Woody has entered the chat.

Start Mike White. No reason to go back to Flacco and White was elevated to back-up anyway. White had a good rapport with Moore when he got games in with him. Garrett Wilson will be open, I promise you that.

There is no harm in benching Wilson and coming back to him at some point. He needs that reality check. He has only not played due to injury. Let him learn from the sideline.

I would not bench Wilson unless you tell him hey we are playing for the playoffs so its not the best time to learn on the field. You will be starter again next season. Don't want to destroy his confidence after drafting him so high.

If his confidence is going to be destroyed by being benched for a game then he certainly isn't the guy - not that he looks to be that anyway.

Gotta do best for the team. If he is starting and struggling again next week, he has to be pulled. The defense plays their asses off every week. The team is 6-4, not 2-8. You owe it to every player to push for the postseason. You made trades to help too. It's possible going 4-3 the rest of the way to get in.

We talked all summer about how playoff experience helped the young players for the Rangers. It's the same for the Jets. Wilson isn't the only young guy. Do what you need to win. Figure out the long term in the off-season.

Darnold was already broken by that point. Darnold is the new david carr.

As for what Douglass did better than idzik or maccagnan is identify how to improve basically every area of the team.
He's moved down, he's moved up, and with the exception of wilson, his picks for saleh have been great.

The roster was one of the worst in the league 3 years ago.
Its now an elite defense, and a QB away from very good offense.

A game is fine. I was talking about the season.

I agree. You do what is best for the team but still try to salvage his confidence and even tradablility.

MLF isn't doing Zach Wilson any favors, but Wilson still misses too many reads and basic throws. I'm not seeing it with him. His press conference last night also raises red flags. Giving me Lias Andersson vibes.
MILF might be, though.

If his confidence is shattered that easily he ain't the guy in the first place.

I'm neutral on Wilson, but the media is dumb. They were pro-Lance/trade Jimmy G in the pre-season and I've never heard any of them question whether Lance or Wilson were the best pick possible.
Who is "the media"? Nobody I listened to or read thought the 49ers trading Jimmy G was a good idea unless they wanted to tank. They might have expected it but I can't think of anyoe who thought it was a good idea (depending on the return of course).

Wilson has not flashed once in 2 seasons already, he’s never had an impressive game in the NFL. Sam Darnold at least flashed and had some great games, with much worse talent around him. That’s why he was such a sad story. Wilson just straight up sucks a pigs ass. Move on from him. Sign/trade for a Jimmy G or Carr type and draft some offensive linemen.

Jets could possibly trade for aaron rodgers relatively cheap. Favre was good at 39yo for the Jets so why can't a 39yo Rodgers be the same?

If the Jets can land Aaron Rodgers... that'd be exciting

Get AVT back and pray Hall will be somewhat the same
