Tiki Barber brought up the idea of The Giants going for Lamar Jackson, and it got me nervous and excited all at the same time. I’d be more comfortable with that type of signing if all the pieces were in place, but he is a helluva talent.

If he's available, you get him as long as any cost in terms of picks isn't insane.

He's going to be a free agent AFAIK. I think if Zach Wilson doesn't show progress this season the jets should try and sign Lamar and stop trying to draft QBs the last successful one being Geno Smitrh of course.

I always thought when Rex was the coach they should’ve gotten a solid vet instead of taking Sanchez. That was a “win now” team, and Sanchez needed a lot of coaching and development.

Geno Smith is not and has not been successful lol.

And while I probably wouldn't mind if the Jets signed Lamar Jackson, I hope it'd be more of a short-term deal with a lot of AAV if anything. Lamar relies mostly on his mobility, and once that goes, he'd basically be donzo.

If they had Brett Favre those two years, they would have probably won a SuperBowl one of those years.

Ravens can tag him next year and the following year if they wanted to

I was being a bit facetious but he's one of the only QB drafted by the jets who earned a starting job in his 10th season (namath jeff blake and pennington are the only others).

They can and will tag him. Likely transition tag.
Yeah I forgot about the tags but I think there is no way he will sign a tender for $31 million. So either they'll settle on a long term deal or they'll trade him as you suggested.

He turned down 250 million. Its not about picks. Its a matter of who can afford to have that money on injured reserve. His type of play may lead to injury.
This is what scares me about him. Once he’s a bit older and the legs aren’t quite as quick as they used to be a long contract with him could be a disaster.

You and me both. Had them at +6.5 and the under 45.5. Hit on everything else. Teams are so dumb at the end of games.
I had a parlay with under 45.5, Hunt getting at least 25 alt rushing yards, Najee Harris getting at least 40 alt rushing yards and Chubb scoring 1 TD of any kind.

Another bet I had was Steelers at +7.5 and Harris and Chubb scoring at least 1 TD of any kind. I'd have made good coin tonight if not for the dumb play at the end.

I didn't bet anything crazy ($20 on one bet and I already had a free $50 bet that I used on the other), but yeah, insane plays like that just make you want to quit gambling in general lol.
I was never a big gambler, but realized early on that in the long run it's a losing endeavor.

I always refer to the this story that my buddy heard at a gambler's anonymous meeting. Some poor bastard is talking about what got him to GA & it ends ..."Bird hits a meaningless 3 pointer at the buzzer...& I lose my house". Stuck with me for a long time for 2 reasons, A, gambling is completely unpredictable. & B, my buddy's reaction was, "I don't have a gambling problem, THAT GUY has a gambling problem!" Fast forward two years later & my buddy was begging me to borrow money to avoid getting smacked around by his bookie's henchmen.

Crazy to me that this is all legal & glamorized now.

Life is all about self control on things.

The fact it got legalized makes it easier for people to access, but it also makes it safer for their physical wellbeing. DraftKings isn't going to show up to my door with a baseball bat looking for answers because you'll answer to the bank if you don't have the money to pay the credit card or whatever you are using.

Absolutely, but it doesn't make it any less addicting.

Mets actually had a world series appearance and probably should have won except they had a reliever who became the first pitcher in MLB history to blow 3 saves in the world series.
Mets 2015 World Series = Rangers 2014 Stanley Cup Final Run

They both lost to team with royalty/monarch themes in 3 Games that were coin flips.
