A full season of a couple dudes trying to convince us being a Giants fan is actually worse than a Jets fan is an award winning bit.

Not sure where to start with the Jets. They need a complete rebuild. New GM, new coach, new QB, new towel boy. Wouldn't be opposed to trading Sauce and Garrett for high picks. The team has so much dead cap next year and they're going to demand trade once they realize the team won't be competitive until 2025.

Agreed! Everyone is blaming Wilson and Saleh but the GM forced Saleh to bring in bad coaches and WRs that Rodgers likes and until they listen to the legend @Crease and do a complete rebuild with a new GM the offense is not going to be a lot better even with Rodgers.

Tanking to draft a RB at 2 continues to pay dividends. I guess getting stuck with Mayfield or Darnold would have been worse.

That's the thing that I always say, if most Giants fans who wanted a QB got their guy it would have been Darnold. I guess that's the case against tanking.

Agreed. I've never believed in tanking. Before Embiid's first NBA game I said they'd never win a title with him because they created a losing culture to get him. Also, GMs tank but not coaches and players. Coaches and players are auditioning for their next job.

That offensive line HAS to be their top priority. Rodgers is lucky he got hurt when he did....if he were playing behind that line, he'd be in traction by now.

Well no one thinks coaches or players tank. I think in the NFL tanking makes the most sense because of the importance of the QB position, no lottery, and relatively quick time it takes to rebuild.

But obviously it's not perfect, I still prefer upping your odds.

I kind of figured this would happen during the offseason. They basically made the team for Rodgers so if things went bad Hacket, and the Rodgers WR would be questioned. Did Rodgers want the RB as well? I think he did but I can't remember.

Crazy that the Jets would have a similar record as the Giants if not for the Meadowlands Miracle part 2.

The Jets had a top 5-10 defense so all is not lost.

In the last 5 years the Jets drafted 7 OL in the 1st 4 rounds. A team isn't going to be successful if those mid round picks are all busts.

1st 2 (Becton AVT)
2nd 1 (Tippman)
3rd 1 (Edoga)
4th 3 (Warren Mitchell Clark)

Agreed....however, they still need to find a way to remedy/solve the problem. Better scouting/drafting is definitely a start.

This will just make things worse. At least people will realize Wilson is not the problem.
It's not going to make a difference either way. Their ineptitude is due to so many things that no single move would fix anything. Even if Rodgers came back tomorrow, he'd get killed behind this line and they don't really have much else to offset that.

Wilson f***ing sucks though. I don't know how anyone could honestly believe otherwise. You want to spread the blame around, that's fine. Wilson leaves several throws on the field every single game. Even when he gets a pocket he does stupid shit more often than not.

Considering the game Tommy Devito just had with an atrocious line with a bad offensive team what makes you so sure? Yesterday's game by TD was literally better than any of Wilson's career.

Wilson’s not the only problem but he’s a big one. Jets need a new QB, a new OL, a couple additional WRs, a new offensive coordinator, and a new head coach who understands offense. If you fix the rest and try to stick with Wilson, he’ll drag down the offense. Statistically the worst QB since JaMarcus Russell. I haven’t seen anything from Wilson that suggests he can become league average.

He is the biggest problem. You can overcome a poor line or other things. You cannot overcome terrible QB play. However, doubt it's much of a difference with Boyle considering he is almost surely not a competent backup.

Which makes it all the more baffling that they stood pat at the trade deadline.

With Wilson, it's the sunken cost fallacy. Can't admit they screwed up picking him, so the doubled, nay, tripled down on it.

Whatever, all I know is that Wilson's had three years and all I see are the same mistakes as in year 1. Rather they lose trying something different than with more of the same.

Still can't forgive them winning that meaningless game against the Raiders and missing out on drafting Trevor Lawrence.

The prevailing theory is that Joe Douglas didn’t want to bring in someone who would present competition to Rodgers when Rodgers is ready to come back.

That's so dumb, because conceivably this would be someone they would be brining in for a year and then would be gone. I would also think anyone coming in would understand that Rodgers is top dog anyway.

But that's QB, there were other positions of pressing need. I know they tried to get Adams, but not getting him doesn't mean you bring nobody in. Garrett Wilson needs someone to take the heat off of him because everyone know he's their only weapon at WR.

OL help certainly would've been nice.

Unless we're meant to understand that no one was available or affordable, the team did their players a real disservice.

The 1986 Superbowl was the best for me. I liked the style of play. I liked the players. I also liked that we built up to it. You could see the progress. It wasn't just a fluke. We had to get over the 49ers hump and we did 49-3.
During our first two SB runs, we knocked Montana into the next decade. The Leonard Marshall hit in 1990 kept him out for 2 years. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

It wasn't even the Raiders. They beat the 11-5 Browns and 10-6 Rams that year as their only two wins
