It sure would have been a painful couple years, if I was a Bronco fan that was emotionally invested.

Do any of you care about the NFL outside of NYC? How crazy have these past three years been?

Stuck in limbo, sell the house and everything for Russell Wilson and now a trade to aqcuire the HC from N.O., Sean Payton? lol, this ain't the late 90s Buccs missing a coach to put them over the top.

Broncos will crash and burn next season, I'm certain.

I like the NFL. I mostly watch the NFC but I will watch good games from any city. Denver had a good defense in the past. They are a candidate for a turnaround. Can Wilson really go from great to horrible that fast? Maybe he will bounce back a little.

I don't blame him for being upset if the leaks weren't accurate. With that said I really think he originally wanted around $16 mill for years. He keeps saying he didn't want to reset the market knowing others got $16 mill in the past. If I was Joe Id call his bluff. Either tell him to go find his best offer from another team or offer $16 mill hit with only 1 year guaranteed. He wants the Giants to pay more than the free market would pay. I think Cooks contract will show what the open market will pay. I do really worry that Barkley will be disgruntled and that would suck for our lockerroom.
The only RBs with contracts avgin over 12.5 are Mcaffery (16) and Kamara (15). The only RB with guarantees avging over 10 is Tony Pollard who signed the same tender Saquon was offered. My guess is that the stickping point is in the guarantees which aren't mentioned in any articles I've seen. Per OTC the other top RBs are guaranteed 50-60% of their total contract value.

I understand and hopefully SB will come to understand that but when he reportedly turned down $13 and is always saying he doesn't want to reset the RB market that implies to me he expected to be at the top of that $15-$16 mill market originally. Now he would probably take the $13 that Schoen pulled off the table after SB declined it. My worry for SB isnt 10,13 or 15. My worry is will he mess up the good chemistry the team had last season.
SB may have turned down a 3 year $13 deal with 50% guaranteed. He was likely looking for a minimum of $25 mill guaranteed. Maybe even $30.

Man, I moved to Denver 3 years ago and have now seen the Avs and Nuggets win championships. Luckily I found them both - especially this year's Nugs - very likable teams.

Also got to see the Lakers, Dodgers and ...Kings win multiple championships after I moved to LA from NY. Needless to say, I did not find any of those teams likable.

The Russell Wilson trade is an utter debacle that still makes me laugh - but I think the NFL is a coaches league and I wouldn't be surprised to see Sean Payton establish a winning culture at Mile High again pretty soon.

That's what I like to hear. Better offense would certainly elevate the defensive play. But trading Chubb away was a headscratcher to me. It was a rebuild move, trying recoup picks lost in the Wilson trade. Or maybe I got it wrong, and they had to do it, to have the capital to trade for Payton. Just very sad to see.

WR corps is solid since long time, QB has been a catastrophe since Manning (and kinda with him the last year lol). RB has been shit since forever, or Anderson. Strong secondary, but I'm not up to date on the defense. It's a long shot from the Miller defenses. I'm not following much anymore though, the game got very loud and yelly to me. But I'll check out what a coach can do, not sold of the squad depth.

The Giants didn’t budge off an offer of $11 million per year with a guarantee slightly north of $22 million even though it was within $1 million to $2 million on both ends of Barkley’s reduced asking price, sources told The Post.

Sanders rushed for almost 1300 yards with 12 TD. He’s getting 6.3 AAV with 13M TOTAL guaranteed over 4 year deal

🤷

If Gettleman were still GM we'd be looking at the highest-paid RB in the league right now. Very impressed that Schoen stood his ground and didn't cave.
I think both Schoen and Barkley look foolish. They both should have said $12 mill a year with $23 mill guaranteed and went that little extra. All this hostility building over $1 mill or so? The team payroll is $224 mill.

Schoen did the right thing and didn't cave.

There's just 0 incentive to do anything other than let Saquon play on the tag. Saquon/his agents took a gamble and lost. The Giants are not obligated to correct his mistake.

It is the year of our lord 2023. You don't give RBs big 2nd contracts anymore.

Nonsense. Schoen moved twice. Barkley stood his ground. This is on Barkley. Period.

He's an arrogant motherf***er that people like to just gloss over since he's really good at PR. I think he showed his arrogance during these negotiations, too.

I wouldn't put much thought into someone who took his marketing money in Bitcoin, anyway. Barkley isn't the brightest bulb in the sky and he also has incredibly stupid representation (likely because he's kind of dumb himself).

Most likely just training camp filler in case other guys aren't ready.

Eh, he's a year and a half past his injury. We will see. It's a no-risk move and he was a very good 1B back. He's the perfect rotational guy.

I'd actually prefer to use Saquon a bit less since he had a pretty mediocre second half (another reason he didn't get the bag) as his body wore down over the year.

Im not thrilled with Barkley either but Im more concerned about alienating a $224 million locker room over $2 million. Will Barkley be the apple that spoils the bunch?

Then we can just rescind the tag and he can go f*** himself. He does that, he costs himself MILLIONS.

I honestly dare him to hold out and cause an issue.
