i think every DnD group has one of those guys...The first time I ever played D&D when I was a kid, we had this older scary-looking dude living in his mom's basement as our DM. Friend of a friend of a friend or somesuch. He had swords on the walls. Constantly cycled between Death and Venom in his cassette deck. His name was Garth.
The name Garth will forever be associated with Dungeon Master for me.
I wasn't asking anything. You can go back and read through if you're interested. It had nothing to do with Alex Lyon. Start with Post 1,526. Or not. Whatever. Then i'm not sure what you're asking about regarding differences.

Alex Lyon? Lyon never signed an ELC with anyone. He was a 10.2(c) player. (Thanks, Cap Friendly.) They did let the pro-rated amount of $925,000 "burn" in the first year of his two-year contract (he signed in April), but it's an apples to battleships comparison with Gauthier. Lyon was (unfortunately) never going to make anything close to what Gauthier will make in even his first ELC (something around $3.5M/yr), so what did it matter if they burned a contract year? He was an AHL goalie who served a role, something every organization needs. They weren't going to suddenly have to pay him $5M in a future year.
Do you have any comment on the difference between a player signed under Article 9 and one signed under Article 10, or the overall difference between all the things a team needs to consider for 5th overall pick compared to an AHL goaltender?
Edit: You're right, Curufinwe. My mistake. But still - any thoughts on the differences?

I started there and as the conversation went on you started to talk about Alex Lyon and you asked for comments regarding things.Post 1,526...
Uh huh.I started there and as the conversation went on you preceded to talk about Alex Lyon and you asked for comments regarding things.
100% agree. But its not black or white and to say all of this points at hayes is just bullshit. And to say it at the first day without double check his sources is just bad journalism or propaganda. And in his case its clearly propaganda. When the flyers are in question he always say: "we need to know everything to blame someone" and so on. So he chooses when to be open minded and when not.I’m not one to take a chance off bashing the Flyers, but just imo don’t think that the ELC thing was the only factor.
Hayes has a lot of pull around the league, that’s clear as day. I believe it’s confirmed by Cutter he did talk to him after being drafted, and said he’s a role model or something?
Do I think Hayes shit talked Torts, and the Flyers? The city/fanbase? For sure - and it probably did play bit of a part.
Hayes is a moron, who showed true colours when Yandle was benched.
Well if the overage thing is to be believed... he is responsible. How do we know Chuck Fletcher isn't responsible for turning Cutter against the Flyers?
This man is a menace.

It would be the first thing he’s done in his life that helped the Flyers. How do we know Chuck Fletcher isn't responsible for turning Cutter against the Flyers?

Just like with Provorov, I’m disgusted that everyone suddenly hates Gauthier now.
Nope. You missed the hate wagon. If you didn’t hate him and pray for his downfall before the trade then youre just too f***ing late. I don’t want any of these casual idiots on my (or I guess “our”, fellow HFhaters) side.
This is too negative. Try being positive please.
Uh huh.
My in-depth Alex Lyon post is #1,526 for anyone interested.

Wait a second, where did Chuck Fletcher go to college?Chuck Fletcher was fired on March 10th. And breakdowns with Gauthier began after his season ended on March 11th.
Have you people considered that Gauthier only wanted to play for Chuck Fletcher?

They have to win it first. Please piss into the cup.
It really is miraculous that we continue to find ways in which he was even worse than we realized. And that seems impossible. Watch, that 2nd rounder Carolina gets from us this year will turn out to be a McDavid/Bedard-tier generational talent. How do we know Chuck Fletcher isn't responsible for turning Cutter against the Flyers?

You never questioned his hockey IQ before or after this trade? Have you followed or watched this prospect? Lol wtf is this post. I’ll do you one better do you think Gauthier and Michkov are the same tier prospect? Because it sounds like you do. LolJust like with Provorov, I’m disgusted that everyone suddenly hates Gauthier now.
