I'll just say that being in the arena has been a different vibe this year, and I enjoy it much more then years past. I think that is a step in the right direction.

I hear you, and I get it. As a fan that has followed this team since the early 70s, it’s just so frustrating that a player doesn’t want to play here so badly that he won’t even speak to the club.

The Flyers used to be one of the NHLs destination franchises. Now they’re just a joke.

Drysdale is joining an organization that also has young defensemen such as Cam York along with prospects Oliver Bonk and Emil Andrae as one of the selling points of a rebuild that appears to be ahead of schedule. The Flyers (20-13-6) entered Monday in third place in the Metropolitan Division.
Drysdale's arrival also gives the Flyers another top-four option in addition to what they have with Travis Sanheim, Nick Seeler, Sean Walker and York.
One of the characteristics that made Drysdale a coveted prospect was his puck-moving ability. That was on display during his first full season, with 12 of his points coming in the power play.
It's possible the Flyers could use Drysdale to address a power-play unit that has been a concern. The Flyers entered Monday with the worst power play in the NHL at success rate of 10.2%.

They SO don't want to have to do the work to build through the draft. I'm sitting here howling (on the inside) about the traditional reputation the Flyers have for high character, high motor guys who would do anything to win - meanwhile, here we have this country club (very heavy emphasis on the "c***") where a bunch of unemployed lazy dinosaurs latch onto the only tit which would have them and never, EVER stop sucking.

On the one hand, f*** the kid for not even hearing out the plan from the team that drafted him. But on the other hand, good for him. I wish more players would take a hard-lined approach towards organizations that have pretty terrible tack records. Maybe then the NHL wouldn't be run largely by an old boys club that continually rotates in proven failures from other organizations.

Edit: Also comical that a team that is supposedly rebuilding would take back a player on his second contract instead of opting for more picks. Rebuild... right...
He told them in summer 2023 that he was absolutely out. But, If I understand correctly, he told them 2 months after his draft. He already knew the plan. He didn't need to meet with them again after 2023 when his mind was fully made up.

Drysdale is easier to say then Gauthier to...there's that.

A young player who refuses to play for a coach can go play golf.

Oh wait!
