I figured he'd have some struggles but good to get exposed to the NHL level and start learning what he needs to step up.

I didn’t think he was bad, but it was clear that he’s experiencing the adjustment between NHL size/speed and college. Even having a split second less time to do things is an adjustment.

Much better from Leonard that period. You can see the skating and shiftiness, he’s gonna be really good. I’d keep 17, 21, and 9 together.

I thought Leonard was visibly nervous in the 1st, not great in the second, but good overall in the 3rd. That goal doesn't happen without him. And he had a really nice shift after that goal too. It's a good period to build off of.
I think the best thing for him would be to let him play with the same players consistently for sure
14 mins TOI and people here are claiming he got benched. Wtf.

Leonard just looked young tonight. It'll take a little bit of time to adjust to the next level. No shame in that though, nearly everyone struggles at first. Looked great on the Strome goal

Leonard was just eliminated from the NCAA tournament and was thrown into a new environment with a new team in the best league in the world. It's going to be tough to judge where he's at until he gets some real practice time with the team which likely won't be until after Sunday when the team has 3 days off before their next game.
Yeah Leonard is a rookie in his first game. He was solid. A couple minor mistakes in the second. Helped create the 3rd goal. He’s going to be a player… eventually.

Lenny is going to be a good one. He did pretty damn well all things considering. Had to be nervous as hell to play in Boston for his NHL debut with minimal practice time.
This team needs to get Ovi the goal record and then lock it in. You can tell they aren’t playing as dialed in as they should be. Just overall sloppiness the last few games that hasn’t been present much this season.

Ovie calling him Leonardo in the tunnel made me lol. The captain is one of a kind.

Good job Leno! Thought he played a terrific first game. Was involved physically early and looked pretty confident after that. Great puck retrieval a couple times there that directly led to the Strome goal. Look for him to keep getting better as he gets more comfortable. We might be a couple years away from a big year from him but he'll be a solid contributor next year and hopefully in the playoffs this year.

Leonard was getting himself to the right areas a ton too. Pucks that would've been grade A chances were just out of his reach 2 or 3 times. Building some chemistry with the team will help with that
A lot of rookies come out and look physically overmatched. Leonard definitely did not look overmatched.

Couple things
- good to get two, don’t like running losses together before the playoffs
- would be nice to get a 90% save percentage, feel it has been a minute
- another goal against that started behind our net. I’ve noticed that alot this year, font sure if it’s just me, but I’m now nervous anytime I see the puck behind our goal
