This is all well and good, but ask yourself this. When these D start to hit their stride in 3-4 years, who will be the 1C and 2C? An aging Couts, Frost who gets shit on by the HC constantly?

After a decade of failure, it’s very hard to still have faith in this franchise. Especially when ownership is now a faceless corporation that couldn’t care less.
If it alleviates any Of your worries you don't really have to worry about Bonk hitting his stride.

I don't blame him at all. However, for the flyers to not get more for him probably your biggest asset outside of Michkov, during a rebuild no less...is absolutely crazy. I would have anticipated at minimum a first round pick coming back.

I think this is probably going to be the ultimate takeaway from this trade.

Oh, and don't kid yourself - we followed the greatest Bottom GM in the history of sports with ANOTHER absolutely massive Bottom GM. How is that f****ing possible? I mean outside of all of this being a sabotage. Is this all a sabotage? I can't actually believe that any group of people could be this incompetent, despite all of the evidence we have seen that they actually are this incompetent.

And I didn't even want Qatar  Good luck trying to convince me that this isn't all being done to personally f*** with me.

Valid point but did you think this morning we would be talking about a Gauthier trade? That was 10 hours ago. Yes, the past few years and decade have been maudlin and maybe that continues but if I could properly grasp the concept of 3-4 years from now I would be exerting energies far more important than that topic. We know distant history having experienced it through different measures but the team has been a snooze and that can't be debated.

After the initial shock I’m okay with this. Both players have question marks and pedigree. Drysdale has injury concerns but lots of people wondering how Cutter will translate to the NHL.

I think Drysdale is the higher ceiling but bigger risk because of injuries. If he plays regularly and becomes a top pairing guy who adds dynamic to the powerplay, we did great. Gauthier probably has a higher floor but what is his ceiling?

Now the Flyers have 3 picks from the late teens to early 30’s. They can get creative in trades or take major swings or grab fallers. If Gauthier wasn’t going to play then Briere did great. I know this board is doom and gloom but this is far from a bad trade. Many here weren’t too high on Cutter anyway. Drysdale is the type of swing for the fences move I think we like to see. More risk but if he works out we are in a better position than with Cutter. Not a fan of him ghosting the team if that’s what happened. Drysdale also helps this year. It will definitely be more interesting paying attention to prospects this draft with 3 bullets in the chamber probably from 15-35. Take a deep breath everyone, if he walked for nothing that would have been way worse

The 2nd is in 2025...because of course.

I like this trade. We now have 8 defenceman? There were rumours that philly could move Seeler and Walker by the trade deadline. Possible high picks and we still have 6 defensemen. I think the market for defense is high right now. What's not to like? I know Drysdale was struggling in Anaheim but look what Torts did with RIsto. Just last year we thought Risto was a lost cause. This could be a win win for Danny. Make it happen.

I’m so disappointed I’m at this game because this is going to be an all timer night on here.

I fell asleep while the first 13 pages of this were happening

They know this is embarrassing - they buried this on National Championship night. And a night we are playing the Penguins, I guess.

He told them in summer 2023 that he was absolutely out. But, If I understand correctly, he told them 2 months after his draft. He already knew the plan. He didn't need to meet with them again after 2023 when his mind was fully made up.
It has to be the Torts effect. Even Briere and Jones haven't done enough to have players sour on them yet.
