Nobody gets burned more by teams dumping worn-down players than the Flyers. Anaheim needs D. If they're shipping this guy out then they probably have no faith in his shoulder.
Anaheim has Mintyukov, Zellweger, Luneau that are all potential high end offensive dmen who are already playing or will be playing by the end of the year. Drysdale could end up being the best but he also managed to bring back a big piece. So they don't need high end d...it was in fact a log jam.

They traded him for the player who just lead the world juniors in points. So it's not like it didn't take a lot to pry him from Anaheim.

I am, now that the shock has worn off. You don’t
ghost teams - ever. That’s absolute garbage.

Don’t wanna play here, that’s fine - own it, request a trade and move on.

Don’t just stay quiet and have them chase you. That’s worse than anything.
Eh, he's also a teenager. The Flyers should've realized sooner what they're dealing with.

Arguably the best player in Flyers' history refused to play for the team that drafted him.

It's embarrassing to criticize the teenager for deciding not to play in Philadelphia. Maybe he could've communicated better. Maybe the grown men could've been better at their jobs.
The entitled man-baby you mean?

Stop with the excuses. He’s 19. He knows exactly what he’s doing. 99.99% of the other “immature teenagers” who were drafted won’t pull this entitled bullshit.

Imagine thinking the kid is a brat because he doesn't want to come play for a shit coach on an organization that has no plan, and is banking their success on the hope that a potential Russian superstar who can't be here for what...? 3 more years? Is the savior of the team.

Give me a break. The kid was going to be in development hell here and likely ruin his future earning potential. He's not entitled. He's putting himself in a position to succeed. I'm assuming the high and mighty here are managing the local McDonald's because that's who gave you your first break, and you couldnt break that loyalty. Right?

Listen, I am relieved that I don't have to listen to fans and media fawn over a winger playing center who likes to shoot the puck from the Andromeda Galaxy with pace/IQ issues. Those people will suddenly excoriate him, while I don't really care. I don't have to listen to people pretending Tortorella isn't toxic. And I don't have to listen to the Flyers touted as some sought after destination. Yay?

There's no way this was the best value long-term. They wanted a piece to add to their playoff run NOW. Even if Drysdale has talent and is young, we're talking about someone with lost development and a non-ELC. Is this a PP QB predicated move (lol)? There's a good chance they pissed away 5th overall value (multiple times).

And it leaves them with absolutely no center depth long-term. You had to squint and pretend Gauthier could be a 1C to believe in this pretend rebuild. Now? If they knew about this for a year, then it makes everything about Frost's handling -- like he was a luxury -- so much worse. That's the most likely ~2nd line (let alone top line) center under the age of 31 in the organization.
Wait until they trade Frost for a 2nd round pick in 2026.

This organization is run like a chain saw being wielded by a blind, deaf man.

It's almost entirely fans of other teams coming in here and explaining how sorry they are. We're laughing and agreeing with him.

In general my stance is if a player has leverage & they don’t like a situation then they should use it. Teams do it with players all the time so it should be a two-way street. Obviously it sucks when a player spurns your favorite team though.

In regards to this specific situation the Flyers are such a dumpster fire of an organization that is still in denial of that fact so it lessens the sting of player doing that.

It can be both. I hate this organization as much as anyone. But he can be an entitled little bitch as well.

This game fyi is actually fun to watch.

Yeah, tell me one thing thats better about Southern California then Philly??!
warmer? lol

look the kid might have some weird sense of entitlement...but so far i do not see anything that says he DEMANDED his way out of Philly. Just that he didn't want to play here..so that leads back to the faulty organization..being it Torts, someone in his ear saying the team/city isn't good or what have you. But that says a lot...guys used to want to come play here..not so much any more

Flyers handled this shockingly well. Kudos to them

The one major positive I have right now is the level of secrecy around this. Absolutely Hextallian. That's not nothing. Everyone knew exactly what the Flyers were thinking at all times back when Fletcher was GM and Jones was telling his buddies all.
