Getting ripped off in deadline trades has been a Flyers tradition since Keith Allen retired. CIP-March, 2002. Flyers acquired Adam Oates to fill in for injured centers Keith Primeau and Jeremy Roeneck. Gave up a top goalie prospect in Maxine Ouelette and a 1,2 and 3 round draft picks to get him. Then let him walk after a first round loss in the POs.😜

Clarke Management Tree Methodology right there.

MBAs are trash. There's a reason why they are so tied to a "top 10 business school".

Are you now walking away from the whole Fletcher is smart because he's an MBA from Harvard? I'll let you in on a little secret.. universities are some of the biggest scams in this country.

College/University can be great but I think only STEM degrees are of actual value for how expensive it is now.
I'm the one who trashed the Harvard degree.

Remember when Clarke traded Eric Wienrich and I think another defenseman to do them a favor then they ran out of defensemen and had to play Sami Kapanen on defense?
The organization will never change

That's all you can find? Yes, Harvard doesn't take total doofuses. Doesn't mean he's brilliant.
Fletcher to me is mediocre, he actually only panicked one season, that was the summer of 2021 and the spring of 2022, and I think that reflected FO pressure to "be competitive."
He pays market rate, the App works!
His problem is he doesn't find bargains, exploit market inefficiencies or challenge the received wisdom.

But he didn't go all out, he didn't dig a hole that the next GM will need two years to repair before he can start to build. Flyers have an extra 1st going forward, and a half dozen players they can move the next two years that are still young enough to have value.

Given the last decade, limiting damage was the best we could hope for. :DD

I'm not going to waste that much time chasing down your nonsense. You're not that important.

Own up to your poor choice of words and thoughts.

No, that's not all he can find. You harped on it repeatedly.

I’m not sure deadhead has ever actually met anyone who’s been to college. I’m about finished my masters and everyone has the same things to say among my peers in school and professionally. It’s just a piece of paper I needed to do what I want to do. I’ve met plenty of not so bright people and plenty of bright people on my journey. Money, time, and dedication are the only barriers to degrees.

The town hall was as expected. Sad to see Coatesy turned into an elderly alcoholic organizational lapdog instead of just an elderly alcoholic. Also sad to see Briere is fully indoctrinated, albeit not surprising.

Dude is a midget and he’s talking about size.

The biggest problem with the app comment isn't the app existing. Using analytics to show player performance and their capable roles and what not is all important.

The problem is he said it told him the value JVR had. That's the bullshit.

Value is market. The market always changes. What teams are in contention and not in contention. What players are on the sellers are on the block vs not on the block. *WHEN* you attempt to sell... All those things change the value. If the app is saying "I spit out that player X is worth blah blah pick(s)" and that's what he uses it's dumb.

Think about that old leaked Dallas Cowboy draft pick value chart. That chart isn't 'gospel' many realized each draft is different and greatly increases or decreases the value of picks in that draft.

These 'assets' are expiring contracts. At the end of the day that's what matters the most that you actually GET SOMETHING and he failed spectacularly at that. Putting your hat on a "Well. I wasn't gonna get ripped off cuz this app told me JVR is worth X" is just so ridiculous.
Unless they, inexplicably, are planning to re-sign JVR, they should have eaten half his remaining salary and taken whatever - even a 4th or 5th. Now they will pay his full salary, he won’t get a chance to showcase his skills in the playoffs in hope of getting another contract next year. It’s a disservice to a veteran NOT to deal him, even for futures.

The simple fact is that Chuckles has never been up to this job, should never have been hired, and should be fired immediately.
