Kinda like how intent to blow the whistle didn't exist on Kadri's goal :sarcasm:.

Such BS.

Hehe, I don't think the ref was in controll there.

My favorite is when they call off a goal for intent to blow the whistle, but never does call it because they notice that the puck is loose and it then is put home without the ref having blown the play dead. That is just twisted logic lol.

I really really liked some individual performances and especially the passing by Zucc.

Its like every good play he makes offensively triggers him even more to make another one, he is definitely special in that sense. He got the record for most pts by a non-Swede in the SHL, and the above is the reason for that. Hopefully he can get into that beast mode for real in the NHL.

I mean, he got 23 pts in the last 25 games. That is probably top 20 in the NHL the last 25 games. And its not like the pts are pilling up for him, he has a bunch of games that he took like a pt from but he easily could have had 2-3 pts instead with a little luck.

It's a game in, game out thing with him now.

I can't remember the last time he had a game where he did impress me on some level.

Yes, the passing alone is just phenomenal, but Zucc has proven himself a very complete player.

I pretty much knew that a lot of fans weren't going to take to Carcillo, not because of the Gabby thing...I think thats just an excuse. I think the real reason so many people despise him is because they never bought into the SA brings positives to the team and they view Carcillo as the same argument / disagreement / discussion. Personally I think a player like this was the biggest missing piece to the team. We lost all our heart/energy/edgy players like Prust, Dubi, SA. I had hope Dorsett was gonna be the guy but so far he just hasn't been. Carcillo can be this guy for us, we basically stole him, and hes already had a huge effect on 2 of the 3 games we've played since he started.

A few days ago I was kinda mocked because I said a 3rd or 4th line guy CAN make a difference by himself. I think last night was a perfect example, Just look at the flyer that usually kills us...Wayne Simmonds was so totally thrown off his game last night, I think I remember one halfway decent change he had all game. Not taking anything away from Hank but Carcillo gets the 2nd star in my books...His goal was just gravy...oh and one more thing, he makes the games even more exciting to watch and that's never a bad thing in terms of Fan support / crowd interaction. You hate him if hes not on your team, you love him if he is.

I would be interested... It seems Byfuglin was moved up to forward as of yesterday, so I see no reason why Moore, being the better skater, can't excel at forward!

MDZ was actually not bad this game

Girardi made some KEY defensive zone maneuvers. Comparing him to Phaneuf in the Toronto vs. NJ game, Girardi is by far the better player... If we can re-sign him for $5.5M at the most, we should make an effort to keep him

A 4th line of Carcillo-Boyle-Dorsett is a 4th line I would kill for... Each player good for 5-10 goals per year, all can fight, all make smart decisions

Carcillo and Dorsett can fight; I agree. Not sure about the smart decisions thing. Dominic Moore is a better player than all 3. Not sure why you would make him the odd man out.

What I'm starting to see is real chemistry being developed, a very good PP, and goaltender regaining his elite form.

keep it rolling!

Bishop's size aids him against deflections and shots from the point, but he isn't as great with movement. The way the Rangers moved the puck around vs Philadelphia, they should be fine.

Now, if they get kept to the outside and only get chances from the point, it is another story.

Bishop saved the Lightning our first game and we had to expose ourselves much more to try and score on him. They made us pay like 5-0.

Then they played Lindback and he didn't have the same success.

Expected decision from the Lightning.

scratching one of Moore or Boyle every other game may be necessary...

Surprisingly, we have a somewhat complete roster, even though it's kind of a **** show...

And i said CAN fight, not that they are great fighters...

I meant something more like low liability/smarts decisions... none of those players seem to be dumb, especially Dorsett who was a wreck at the beginning of last year

they are good fighters.

Not great, but good.

and while not the main role, it is part of their job description.

Carcillo has had 101 NHL fighting majors with a 54% winning percentage

Dorsett, 87 NHL fights with a 47% winning percentage

Good, not great

I would not call Carillo nor Dorsett "good fighters". They get dragged around like rag dolls against anyone bigger. They can't be the enforcers on this team. Carcillo brings energy better than Dorsett. We still lack the enforcer though.

That's pretty much the point I was trying to make.

Yea but you're arguing with 2 guys that are arguing a different point.

From what I gather, both want Boyle gone at any expense. That's their main point.

Yours is to argue that Dorsett and Carcillo aren't enforcers. Theirs are to argue that Dorsett and Carcillo deserve roster spots over Boyle.

They can? ..neither are good fighters. That's not their roles as far as I see it.

I can't tell if this is a serious post. They are both good fighters who tend to battle outside their weight class. And it is clearly their role.

Actually both...They aren't enforcers, they are high energy agitators players and at least Carcillo should be started over Moore, Moore might very well be the better player and I like him, but Carcillo gives the team much much more of what they really needs right now. Yeah Boyles our face offs "specialist" (as sad as that is) but I still think Having a High Energy player is more important right now. Carcillo can still take players out of their games, and players like that have Energy that is infectious to the team. If they weren't going to commit to Haley this year (regardless of his recovery they weren't going to) it was a GREAT move to go out and get Carcillo.

Great points. You echo my thoughts exactly.

In contrast to those who will defend the slug no matter how much he gunks up the works. This board is littered with that type of biased poster as well.

As for roster spots, Dorsett and Carcillo have a different role than BB (and play a different position) so your premise is silly and overly defensive. Putting alot of words in a lot of people's mouths; cut that out.

I disagree that they are good fighters, they are willing combatants and fiesty for their size..but they won't hang against heavyweights and most middle weights.

and as far as that being their roles...i don't think so...

“I see Dan bringing a lot of energy,†Vigneault said. “Sometimes you need those tempo, momentum shifts changing during the game, where a guy goes out, gets a couple of big hits, brings a lot of energy.†- AV on carcillo.

No matter what the Rangers need Steps, Nasher and Krieder to be roaring.

They are much better, but have a ways to go.

Just good to see Nasher getting involved and converting his chances. Kreider continues to impress.

Now we're just waiting for Steps to really get going. He has to be much more of a presence out there.

I can guarantee you Thomas Drance has no vested interest making Brian Boyle appear better than he is, but here he is, ranking Boyle in the top 5 PK forwards in the league.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Boyle coming out of the lineup.

I don't think it will ever come down to Carcillo over Boyle anyhow...because Boyle can play any "o" position. I'm not anti-boyle, he has the most accurate shot in the league...he must because he hits the goalies right in the logo every single time :)
