I don't know - it's just an idea I had.Right, more concerned with image than winning, my mistake.
I guess that's a theory.
Why would management need to point that out during the game? Wouldn't Keefe have already been given his orders?
Any news as to why Robertson is sitting?Practice lines today see Robertson in the pressbox and replaced by Holmberg. Kerfoot is playing with JT and Nylander.
Holmberg is centering the 3rd line with Engvall and Jarnkrok today.
ZAR --- Kampf and Malgin is line #4 in practice.,
Did you think Tavares was the best Leaf on Sunday? So JT is average which means every other forward is below, especially MM
At this point they should play Robertson, Holberg, and a couple of other young guys and sit the projects.Any news as to why Robertson is sitting?
Robertson - Nylander - Malgin looked good in the first period of the Ducks game (scoring at ES). But the line was broken up for the rest of the game, and now Robertson is sitting, Malgin is on the 4th line, and Nylander is back stuck on Tavares' wing.
Did you think Tavares was the best Leaf on Sunday?
Agree he is average, yet better than 10 other forwards so far this season. When he becomes our 5th best forward, we are winners.Fortunate for them that Philly plays tonight. So if they lose or it’s a nailbiter, that should be unacceptable, but excuses will be made
No even strength goals, and only 3 even strength points. Slow as molasses, he’s average
They show up and loose. They won't be ready to start this game has they haven't in a long time. This game seems to be a tipping point.
Does the team show up and earn a win or do we see what we've seen the rest of the season?
This franchise clamours for young players to make an impact on their ELC but once they get one they don't play him
Put Robertson in, you literally need goals
Robertson f***ing sucks man that's why he isn't playing. He had like 3 good games in a row including the regular season game he had 2 goals. Since he has been too slow to get to pucks and can't find any open ice at all. He isn't helping his linemates in the slightest, they need to get the puck and set him up for him to be impactful.
We aren't getting our 11M players to be setup men for Robertson. So he got put down the lineup to see if he can spark something there and was even worse. He will be back on the Marlies soon.
Since management forgot to address the need for a top 6 forward during the off season, they may as well throw him out there for 20 straight games to see if he can adjust.Robertson has only looked good on the occasional puck recovery on D, sending it back to the D.
Offensively he's completely invisible, just doesn't know where or how to engage if his linemates don't do it for him, aside from on the rush.
Expecting a dominating win tonight and for the Leaf GDT to be completely dead. At least outside of directly after they get scored on.
This site feels like I am on the main boards
From my eye test, Robertson has been decent defensively as well. I think he has the head for the game, seems to be very aware. I would have him playing in the top 6 through the month. What have they got to lose?Since management forgot to address the need for a top 6 forward during the off season, they may as well throw him out there for 20 straight games to see if he can adjust.
It’s the same situation with goaltending and defence.
It won't, not for most of us here, but... you do have to start somewhere.Yeah because a win against a crappy team like the Flyers will really make people excited again about this team.
They show up and loose. They won't be ready to start this game has they haven't in a long time.
Problem wasn't Babcok..........people are still blaming Lou......everyone knows where the problem lies.
That's good to hear! He's usually our fourth best, so we're almost there.Agree he is average, yet better than 10 other forwards so far this season. When he becomes our 5th best forward, we are winners.
Keefe is not a great coach and he’s still learning, but he’s been put in a tough spot. Management has high expectations and expect him to win a playoff round, but look what he has to juggle on nightly basis with so many unknowns. From my eye test, Robertson has been decent defensively as well. I think he has the head for the game, seems to be very aware. I would have him playing in the top 6 through the month. What have they got to lose?
As for the bottom 6... I have never understood forcing potential top 6 guys down there and expecting something from them. If you don't have the pieces you need for the bottom 6, go get them. That being said, have we really given who we have a fair shot to adjust and find their footing? 6 games isn't enough for the new guys imo. Let it ride ffs. Commit to your top and bottom 6 and see what you have. And if it's not what you though, make some moves.
Keefe might be at the point where he is out-coaching himself both with lineup composition and in game adjustments.
It won't, not for most of us here, but... you do have to start somewhere.
Find a way to win, any way, and then build off that. As it stands, they have nothing to build off of.
