He played them 10 mins and they lost?

Nylander-JT is our best 5 on 5 line
He played them for about four minutes in the first period. They were the best looking line, with the go-ahead goal and both assists. He benched/broke them up after the first and we lost.

Yes, Nylander and Tavares have been our most productive players, but JT really only on the PP. Separated, as they were Sunday, Nylander looked really good and JT looked average.

You know Torts will have them ready to go right from puck drop.
This could get ugly if the Leafs can't weather the early storm.
We are playing a bad team that has lost their best players to injury on the 2nd of a back to back starting a goalie who is 0-7 in the NHL.

A loss tomorrow would be ROCK bottom.

If you're believing management contacted the bench because they want to lose instead of whatever it is was happening, I doubt you'll believe any other reasons we could come up with.
I didn't say management wanted to lose.

I said they seem to be more concerned about image. Specifically, not showing that Dubas' $11M NTC free agent signing isn't looking very good without Nylander (except on the PP), while Willy is looking better without JT.

Flyers coming off of a back-to-back. We should be taking it to them!
Yeah for surely  This are the easiest games for the whole season. Now we really see what these fools are about. Is they bout their money, or bout their LIFE. Amazing it will be to see. Johnny Tortorella's flyers will always be hardened, sharp and ready to go. They might lose some... but man, do they still throw that hip check on a fool or what. And its like that. Them and deslarierls will always kill, none the less. And Torts will be happy then. He don't give a F if they lose, when they give a rocky, heavy performance and hurt others. We are going to get hurt, so be and stay ready.

Right, more concerned with image than winning, my mistake.

I guess that's a theory.
Why would management need to point that out during the game? Wouldn't Keefe have already been given his orders?

Holl on the first defensive pairing, after being the worst he’s ever been in his entire career, makes sense to reward mediocrity.

Let’s reward our pop cap offense by scratching Robertson and putting out even more crappy players that can’t score a goal, makes sense.

The status quo kings strikes again.

No secondary scoring of ANY kind, no even strength offensive threat at any level, AHL level defensive group, temper tantrum stars underperforming, shitty goaltending from Kallgren and Murray, ploddingly slow on defense.

There’s literally nothing to get excited about right now, absolutely nothing at all. This team will get obliterated on Wednesday night. The only thing that saves them is a stellar performance from Samsonov, which I hope doesn’t happen because it prolongs the pain by another few games.

Excited to see Holmberg play. I think he can easily step in and play on our fourth line right now. Moves Kampf back up to the third line.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Kerfoot - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Holmberg - Aube Kubel

Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - Holl
Giordano - Kral

Would like to see this.
Practice lines today see Robertson in the pressbox and replaced by Holmberg. Kerfoot is playing with JT and Nylander.

Holmberg is centering the 3rd line with Engvall and Jarnkrok today.

ZAR --- Kampf and Malgin is line #4 in practice.,

^^^^^^^ See ^^^^^^^
Being a Flyers fan I can say obviously the Leafs have the massive edge in talent. Hard work beats talent when talent is not working hard. This is how the Flyers have been successful so far this season. Also Wayne train should be in the lineup Wed. One thing the Flyers will do is throw down and mix it up all game. With that said its a 5-2 Leafs win. Flyers come off a game against NYR and they will probably start Sandstrom in net. They play horrible with him in net for whatever reason.
From what I’ve seen they play the same with the back up and the difference is Hart has been pretty good, so far.

If nothing else this should be a game to watch. Nicely balanced between why the Leafs should win this game and why they probably will lose it. Flyers will be on the second half of a back to back and probably playing their backup. They should be tired from travel. Leafs should be motivated to actually give a damn after being embarrassed throughout the entire road trip. And the Flyers don't suck this year so they should be competitive enough of an opponent to get the stars on this team slightly motivated. So plenty of reasons to win.

On the other hand...they are playing a team on the second half of a back to back and that's reason for them to look down on their opponent. Flyers weren't good last year and not sure if this team checks updated standings. They are also pretty mentally fragile and the crowd will be ready to boo if they fall behind in this game. Plus good god that lineup. Can't imagine how many times Rielly-Mete will get burned in this one.

Leafs have more than enough talent to win. They should be motivated to show some self-respect on the ice. They just need to play close to their ability level. We'll see if that happens.

Flyers coming off of a back-to-back. We should be taking it to them!

Leafs will also be coming off a back-to-back. B2B days off - which is often the sort of game they start pretty sloppy in against what will undoubtedly be an extremely hard working Tortz team full of players who have 96 f***ing relatives in the stands.

So JT is average which means every other forward is below, especially MM

Fortunate for them that Philly plays tonight. So if they lose or it’s a nailbiter, that should be unacceptable, but excuses will be made

No even strength goals, and only 3 even strength points. Slow as molasses, he’s average

0-0 in the Flyers / Rangers.....heading into the 3rd

I really liked what I saw from Holmberg and McMann in the pre-season.
Considering the new player are doing Jake give them an opportunity to see what they can do and not just for a couple of games.

If they come out flat the crowd could get ugly .
