Did any of you guys watched the 1st episode? They moved Morin ahead of Monahan, Nurse and Ristolainen. Monahan dropped till the 13th spot or something. At the end of the episode, they asked what Homer thought of the changes, and he replied with a joke.

Also, Barkov is the player they have just ahead of Morin.

Forget it..I didn't see there were 3 other pages of discussions loll

Yea let’s face it when you are buying these kids outside the first handful of players you are purchasing what "you hope and pray they will become" not what they already are.

This video is great because it shows about what I expected a war room to be like. Lots of back and forth and you need the conflict for it to work. Politics is also in play as it appears some voices have more say and one would assume that is due to merit? I wonder if Holmgren stayed out of the room by design? Pronger was a bit quite in the video.

Another part of the politics you see is that scouts of a region politic for a guy from their territory. Who didn't want to move Morin ahead of Mueller? The WHL guy. And I'm not sure, but I think Morin's biggest booster was the guy for the Q.

Todd Hearty was the younger guy in the beginning who was clamoring for Morin. He's the primary scout in the Q for the Flyers.

Denis Patterson was the older guy who liked Morin over Nurse & was comparing the two. He's the primary scout in the OHL but is one of the longest tenured scouts for the Flyers so his opinion has more weight than others because of his seniority & track record since being with the Flyers. Him & Simon Nolet are their go to guys when it comes to scouting.

Flyers had clear strategy.
They had the top5 elite separated with Lindholm included not Nichuskin. If any of those 5 elites were dropping they would have taken em for theyre value alone. no point taking positional need over elite prospect. after those 5 elite they went and targeted for defensman for the 2ndary group elite defensman after jones. they knew they were gonna get one of those six defensman and had morin highest. the big debate they had was that is monahan good enough to take over defensman and apparently he wasnt. so very good draft for philadelphia overall. for theyre main targeted 6 defensman they got theyre best option.

I was thinking the older guy was from the Q. He really did seem to like Morin a lot.

I completely disagree with a lot of the rankings on their board, but I like and respect that they put the guys where they truly think and go with it. They definitely didn't just play it by the book and go with the consensus rankings.

Great stuff. Have no idea how you guys can read those names though....at which moment in that video are those names clear enough for you? Geez....I'll have to change my glasses that's for sure...

On another note....Flyers loved the Habs draft. That's for sure. DLR, McCarron and Lehkonen in their top 50. Andrighetto close to 100. Fucale as their #1 goalie prospect. Fun to see what other teams think of your work.

Also, the guys that can read the names....would be neat if you can fine me MY man crush of the year in Poirier. What could be your guess of where he is and again, please tell me which pic or time in the vid you can see the most as I'll try to do it myself but just couldn'T figure out anything....

Thanks.

The top 15 was obvious as they say most of it and there was a point in the video where they showed this:

That was BEFORE they changed the order.

For the 20's:

Imagine if Calgary would haven had the same list as Philadelphia and would have taken Morin at 6. massive ****storm on here and everyon blaming Feaster lol

Just a guess on their rankings, but they likely had Chris Bigras in the 16-18 range. Patrick Roy said that after the draft, Chris Pronger came up to the Avs and congratulated them on drafting him because he's a great player. Pronger scouted him a decent bit this year.

I very much think he is the missing #18 on the list I posted. I have a few stills I am working from and in one, I can see something that looks like Bigras with a small space between the Bi and the gras. But I looked through other stills and I could not be conclusive. But gut says its Bigras.

Another situation where I saw a name but was inconclusive is Shinkaruk at 34. In one still I saw something that resembled "aruk" at the end and the structure of the name matches as well. But again in others, I could not verify. Gut tells me it's him at 34.

Wow, they were totally going for the ''we NEED a D'' pick. Holmgren did not seem all that happy with the changes to the order, eh?

As someone who got Morin 24th in my keeper league, that was exciting stuff. Hope they are right on him. A bit surprised that their other Q scout Simon Nolet was not seen arguing in that meeting, he's the one credited for Gagne, Giroux, etc.

Well, it was only 8 minutes, and the scouts had already had their big post season meetings too. This was only snippets.

Nolet holds great sway and he and Q scout Todd Hearty saw Morin a lot. OHL scout Dennis Patterson is the interesting one. He loves Morin's upside over Nurse and Monahan from his territory. Patterson would've had huge input into Laughton last year, and he is turning out to be a good pick.

As a Flyer fan, if Nolet and Patterson think Morin was 6th best, and they got him at 11, it was a good day.

FYI, the screen captures are from the trailer, not the first episode itself. They didn't blur it out. See the 20 second mark.

Damn my boy pulock was nowhere to be found on thier list. Philly had a bunch of dmen ahead of him. They really liked Morin. Homer was funny at the end

Yeah, bevause of players like Ristolainen were available...the Flyers taking Morin at 11 wasnt the worst thing they could have done. At 6, it would have been a huge reach. I know thats where they had him ranked and if we drafted him over Risto I would have lost my ****.

Maybe it was Klimchuk at #34? I could see how their two names could be mixed up given the endings and name length.

And thats why Barkov went 2nd overall and Lindholm 5th

Christ, you're defensive about Finnish prospects. He only said he was glad someone agreed with him about Lindholm being better than Barkov (which Philly did, according to their list as revealed in the video).

On another note....Flyers loved the Habs draft. That's for sure.

The Habs were also in negotiation with the Flyers regarding the 11th overall until the Flyers realized that they intended to select the guy the Flyers wanted at that slot as well, Samuel Morin.

Seems the Habs and Flyers were on the same page this year.
