The commentary last night was embarrassingly bad. If I brought that level of enthusiasm, or lack there of, to my line of work, it would only be a matter of time before being let go. Daws stood on his head in the 2nd period with 24 saves, besieged by high danger slot chances in rapid succession. Not that you’d know it by the commentary and the inexplicable non-calling of the game at times.
Would have been so much better maybe mixing one of one regular broadcasters from each team...The r would have provided much better insight and excitement to the coverage....Messier stuff was annoying....

I don’t understand why this team seems to almost always give a good game against a decent or good opponent. I would say the LA game was an exception. Not that last night was great. The 2nd period was awful and we had a couple of breakdowns at 5-3 where I was shocked it wasn’t 5-4. But we did come out and have a good 1st period.

I just hope we take care of business against Washington and Montreal in the week. And winning at least one of the Rangers or Tampa games would be huge, as long as we beat both Washington and Montreal to start and end this stretch.

Credit to the Flyers playing a hard game but we seemed to take a few steps back this game in giving up unforced odd man rushes. It wasn’t just defencemen pinching either, it was more often us having 3 forwards near or behind the goal and then getting caught flat footed. Have to take care of the puck better in those situations.

he flew under the radar, but i thought smith had a great game last night. a physical presence who played a smart game.
I know he’s hated for his penalties but I like him in that 3rd pairing/penalty killing Bet role. We need toughness, especially if we want to take a run in April. He was all over my radar yesterday. Constantly clearing the crease after whistles, a goal and an assist. Why the hell was he in front of the net on his goal? Him and Marino have been our Vets on D for most of the year

1. Love the love for Nico in the post-game comments
2. Daws showing out - too small a sample, but maybe he's "The Answer"
3. Ruff mentioned that the ice was good last night
4. Tippet probably needs to be mentioned in the "star" category around the league. God he was 10th overall by the Panthers.

They’re a blast when you don’t eat too many, otherwise I’ll start thinking about how everyone I know and love will die some day.

It’s so funny to me how taking too much of something that usually mellows and chills you out can cause the opposite. I remember taking half a gummy a few months ago and it had me nostalgic of things back from my childhood that I never even thought of in so long.

It’s crazy man. Weed these days seems to cause so much more anxiety than when I was in college 15 years ago.
absolute mad man. I love it.

Although I've found that the edibles don't give produce as strong of a high as the flower does actually.
What do I have to do to have you all drive out of this showroom today with a shiny new strain that‘s just right for you?

The live production was also horrible. There were four jumbotrons (super small) and two of the four showed Madden-like tracking of the players on the ice using dots. The other two minotrons had half of the screen show statistics such as "most ice skated", "hardest shot", etc.. Every time there was a faceoff, it would show the players faceoff percentage, but it would show three inaccurate numbers before refreshing to the accurate number.

Daws, Markstrom and Saros!? That sure is interesting :)

It wasn't even showing the actual percentage. Was was a face off win probability.

I didn't mind the madden tracking thing though.

Now that they won the game and everyone enjoyed it, it’s time to get down to business. Let’s get a couple of wise guys, hop into a sanitation truck and pay a visit to the stugots who ripped off @Saugus and his goombahs.

I said this the other night, but I’m more than fine with dubbing this year’s Flyers as the “Hard working team” of the league.

It actually makes sense for them, because they’ve actually been successful this year.

The “Hard working” Arizona stuff was so cringy because they were a 57 and 70 point team and now on pace for 77 this year, while that dumb, fake meme (which has cooled down this year) was being pumped.

Talking about how hard working they were was almost a bigger insult, as one takeaway from it is the implication that they’d be the worst team maybe ever if they weren’t so hard working because for all that hard work they were still a bottom 2-6 team in the league lol.

The Flyers are the team to force this meme upon, because they’re not really good on paper, but they’re actually having success points and wins wise this year and have been in a playoff spot for the better part of the year, and they haven’t really done so in a lucky manner like when the Capitals were in a playoff spot the first 3 months.

Nah, pretty good goal scorer, but the assist numbers are weak. Not sure about his defensive game, or puck possession game, but I'll guess it's not elite. Just not enough there to get into star player territory.

He's a decent player.

I haven’t tailgated in so long, it just created such a nostalgic, bonding vibe that I didn’t realize I missed as much as I had.

Love the Rock, but this most definitely felt like a return to our roots for our fanbase. Would’ve loved to have heard the old goal horn broken out as well for old times’ sake.

Gaslight Anthem f***ing rocked. Love that Brian Fallon was also encouraging/joining in on the you suck chants.

I’m over the moon about how much fun last night was.
