It’s so funny to me how taking too much of something that usually mellows and chills you out can cause the opposite. I remember taking half a gummy a few months ago and it had me nostalgic of things back from my childhood that I never even thought of in so long.
It’s crazy man. Weed these days seems to cause so much more anxiety than when I was in college 15 years ago.

My Oh Meier

Before that it was Holtz My Horses and before that it was MJMazzarone. The constant name changing is just sort of a gimmick at this point.
I remember when you interviewed Steve (maybe even Chico or Dano too?) about 10 years ago and said you had asked all of them off the record if they were lurkers of this forum or if they knew about it and they said yes.

And when I noticed Dano starting to dissect goals that he didn’t like on one of our goaltenders or mentioning something like it I thought maybe he’s been reading my posts a lot.

I remember mentioning this when talking about all the Dano memes too, but wasn’t able to find your name when I searched (MJMazzarone) and figured you either got whacked (from the forum) or changed your name.

I even mentioned you last year when talking about the Dano memes. And for some reason there was something you posted maybe in the off-season that made me realize it was you.

It really feels to me like a playoff game win last night. I am still pumped up.

I am still thinking about the penalties given, or not given, and it just boggles my mind that there seems to be no discipline or accountability for the refs in this league.
It was a surreal experience, way better than I anticipated. Had to be 90/10 Devils fans and packed. Legitimately stunned the fanbase showed out like that, especially given the tickets available on the secondary market and with how hot and cold our fans can be.

Our absolutely heinous power play is down to 23rd in the league in expected goals after last night and down to 12th in the league in percentage after being 1st for a while because of how hot it was to start.

That 23rd in expected goals is as bad as it’s been (and worse) in any year recently, aside from the last year of Recchi in 21-22 when it was 32nd. No Dougie and having Jack miss so much time no doubt drops it significantly, but it’s been really poor for a while. Even when we were scoring every 2 or 3 power plays I think it was still only around 9th or 10th in expected goals. And recently it’s been giving up one or two pretty good short handed opportunities every game, sometimes leading to goals against.

The good news is we’re 5th at expected goals 5 on 5.

I don't know if it still exists because we have had a million server changes over the years BUT Bob McKenzie would post here on the main board a lot.

When I interviewed Stafford i got extremely greedy and went to every subforum I could and asked for fan questions. That ended in a multitude of infractions for me, I'm surprised my account wasn't banned after that.

The only other hockey interviews I did was a random one with Brandon Dubinsky and Mike Brown (who at the time played for the Sharks when they didn't suck). To date, there hasn't been one player that I've brought up HFBoards who didn't say they lurked or had teammates that lurked.

Non hockey related, but like 10 years ago I interviewed WWE Wrestler Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley in AEW) and he was legit pulled from RAW because of 'media tour'. The outlet I worked for at the time was the only interview lolol.

The reason I don't do them anymore is because there was a significant pay cut after COVID. I wish one of the 9 million hockey podcasts out there would pick me up. Interviewing NHLers was the biggest blast of my life. There used to be a media guide that listed all the info for the teams, reporters, radio and TV stations. Most of it is probably outdated now but that's how I got the majority of those.

The only perk I still have from that job is being able to go to whatever rock concert I want. If anyone needs a plus one to see Billy Joel or whoever, I can hook you up.

Let’s talk if David Gilmour ever tours again.

EMBRACE THE JERSEY IN US

That was a great night last night. The Devils return to 16W couldn't have been better. Someone said it earlier it's hallow ground out there. Parking and seeing the iconic Meadowlands Arena, walking the cattle bridge one more time. It was a great NEW JERSEY Devils night. And the win made it even better. Not sure how many on here went last night but if you did it was something special. A Devils game at the Meadowlands. WOW.

The commentary last night was embarrassingly bad. If I brought that level of enthusiasm, or lack there of, to my line of work, it would only be a matter of time before being let go. Daws stood on his head in the 2nd period with 24 saves, besieged by high danger slot chances in rapid succession. Not that you’d know it by the commentary and the inexplicable non-calling of the game at times.

Watching some of the TV broadcast, I forgot to say last night that I can't believe they put that Messier reference into a video for a Devils-Philly game, even more hilarious that a huge portion of the fans inside the building(everyone under 30) weren't even alive and another good portion were still in diapers still when 94 happened. f*** off with that shit. NHL and ESPN are a bunch of clowns.
Have to say, I didn't get the need for that at last night's game. No reason to have that at the game. I get they're a part of the series overall but last night it was about Devils / Flyers.
