As a member of the PR team, wtf were they thinking? Ultimately an apology is not necessary but it shows the organization is trying to keep goodwill with the community. A reporter is going to repeatedly ask a question if it hasn't been answered and they have the time.

It's more that it's just super unprofessional and makes the Flyers social media/PR team look a bit bush league rather than people being 'thin skinned'.

Do we even know if Philly media people are offended and threw a fit? Sounds to me like the Flyers just realized they f***ed up and apologized, which is the normal thing to do.

Offensive and uncalled for. He should just shut up himself. Unlike her, the dude isn't going to have a job anymore. Yea, it's a bit of a loose statement to apologize for, but when you employed by a logo you do have be careful of inflammatory remarks. The Flyers have a brand and have a lot of eye's on them.

The 'thin skin' remarks is just promoting unnecessary hostility within hockey. Offensive remarks shouldn't be accepted no matter how minor when there is something that is clearly defined.

I'll assume anybody who doesn't think this warranted an apology hasn't ever been employed.

Never apologize publicly, only privately to the individual. Just say that the remarks don't represent your companies opinions, you will look for ways to improve company culture through training and make sure a situation like this never happens again.

Obviously unprofessional, warrants an apology, and should be fired. But got damn if his comment wasn't so accurate maybe I'd even feel the slightest bit bad for the reporter. They have to step up their game.

To be fair it was a completely worthless question. It's laughable that so many advertise themselves as 'proffesional writers' 'Journalists' when all they do is repeat the same jib-jab hackneyed questions and toss it into voice-to-text for tomorrow's article. Like the other dude said, completely ego driven industry.
