Letang looked abysmal. Kessel looked like his hands were in slow motion all night.
You can usually get away with that if he has some insulation at both ends. After Malkin was hurt, it became a fruitless endeavor to keep he and 71 together. Just dumb all the way around.

I’m betting this is going 7.

All the “experts” talking about how the Pens were a well oiled machine, firing on all cylinders, and the Flyers were a severely overmatched team that was wilting and on the edge of death.

Lo and behold the Pens do what they do best and wilt themselves.

Sid, Geno and Phil invisible.

Letang showing us all once again how ****ing stupid he is.

Murray letting in very savable goals.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Did I mention turnovers?

Failed clears. Failed clears. Failed clears. Did I mention failed clears?

Overpassing, overpassing, overpassing. Did I mention overpassing?

Missing the net, chest sniping, allowing shots to get blocked.

The team just isn’t consistent enough. One game they look unstoppable and the next they look like they don’t have a ****ing clue what they are doing.

Back to Philly with them having all the momentum...

But the experts will say that they Pens still
“dominated” Philly, just didn’t get puck luck...

Dude, why do you cheer for this team?

You know mental/physical fatigue from the last two runs is a real thing when Sid just looks like he wasn't interested in taking Philly out at home.

And Phil, unless he's truly hurt, was Toronto stereotype Phil. Add a gimpy Geno, and this is the result.

Funny thing is, they played better than Philly did. Flyers had 3 legit scoring chances the entire game but the Pens basically wanted to lose judging by how they played.

And Letang is a dumpster fire that was set ablaze with burning tires. His showing up Murray after the shorty after the season Letang had is typical of a diva who thinks the world of himself. ****. Off.
I'd be absolutely shocked if Phil wasn't hobbled tremendously by some injury. He was our MVP for this regular season for months at a time, and his play just dropped off a cliff at the end of the season and into the playoffs. There's no question in my mind he's playing with a serious injury that, if not for that ironman streak, would have him in a suit in the press box right now.

People can blame Kessel's pass for that SHG, and they wouldn't be wrong, but Letang's absolutely clueless play in his own zone--shocker--while not tying the man up right around the net was just typical.

Sully doesn't trust him. Right or wrong, it isn't gonna happen.

Well he better at least keep that option open since Kessel lost his hands(probably injured). Sprong adds another lethal shot to the lineup..and Ill continue to bring it up until it happens.

He wasn't on the ice for any of the goals against, but I thought Maatta also had a poor game. Slow to pucks (like usual), but also bad passes and inability to clear the zone.

I think the only defensemen who had relatively solid nights were Schultz (except on the PP), Ruhwedel and Oleksiak.

Ironman don't count for jack in the post season though. Does it??

Sprong with a goal for WBS in game 1..they lose in OT. Keep the goals coming Spronger. Force your way into the lineup
Wanting Sprong to play on the Pittsburgh Penguins this playoff is as realistic as wanting Erik Karlsson to suit up in place of Ruhwedel.

It's not going to happen. It just isn't.

I mean we all saw that...no idea why would they keep playing him with another guy that cannot skate

That goal is on Kessel and Murray.

Murray hadn’t had a real shot in the period and fed Filp it on a platter. No reason there should be a rebound there.

Don’t take this as me saying Letang had a good game, but blaming that one on him is silly.

2 times SC champion and now it may be a 7 game series. Sully can't coach around Hornqvist. Without him, the Pens have zero get your nose in there. I think this is a indication of Pens not just being as consistent as needed. Kessel, Latang were not very good which is just par for the course.
