I’m betting this is going 7.

All the “experts” talking about how the Pens were a well oiled machine, firing on all cylinders, and the Flyers were a severely overmatched team that was wilting and on the edge of death.

Lo and behold the Pens do what they do best and wilt themselves.

Sid, Geno and Phil invisible.

Letang showing us all once again how ****ing stupid he is.

Murray letting in very savable goals.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Did I mention turnovers?

Failed clears. Failed clears. Failed clears. Did I mention failed clears?

Overpassing, overpassing, overpassing. Did I mention overpassing?

Missing the net, chest sniping, allowing shots to get blocked.

The team just isn’t consistent enough. One game they look unstoppable and the next they look like they don’t have a ****ing clue what they are doing.

Back to Philly with them having all the momentum...

But the experts will say that they Pens still
“dominated” Philly, just didn’t get puck luck...

Malkin could have also kept the puck in on that third goal. Instead of going for the puck he jumped to brace/avoid the hit. I get that he was/is probably playing hurt but still.

It's a play that needs to be made whether he is hurt or not. If he's too hurt to take a hit, he probably shouldn't be playing at all.

That's kind of what bothers me about tonight the most. Philly didn't even play that well.

It might be less of a sour pill if Philly was outstanding, but they weren't. The Pens just shot themselves in the foot over and over.

Neuvirth played well. That was the difference for them

Can’t wait to see the hot takes in here.

Translation:

My Tangy shat the bed and was a -4 after I called out Cole for his GA in a hot take earlier today.

even with two guys like kessel and letang being absolute garbage we still were way better in this game, Flyers did not even try, with a little bit of luck we would score 5 goals again, but if you don't believe that there is something bad when you make fun of the opponent and call Giroux fraud all day on Pittsburgh sports radio then you have not watched enough sport in your life....
Phil is garbage and needs to be moved away from Geno because we are killing Geno by playing him with
and for my buddy Tom hanks...well game 6 is on

Aside from the PP, i continue to be amazed at how often they aren't ready to go at the beginning of the game. Opponents always seem to have the audacity to think they have a chance to win the game.

Get your heads out of you asses and be ready at puck drop.

This happened consistently last year.

0 - 5 on the PP and a SH goal. How you going to win?

What do other issues have to do with Letang being one of the biggest?
Seeing people defend Letang after tonight reminds me of seeing people defend Fleury after he singlehandedly lost us games.

Letang sucked. He's sucked all season, relative to his potential and cap hit. His performance tonight was indefensible--which is ironic considering his play.

My god, people. I honestly think some of you actually hate this team. Just take a deep breath and step back from the ledge.

It sucks, yeah. But it's rarely easy in the NHL playoffs. Would it really kill some of you to just look at this logically and realize that the flyers were third in the division for a reason? They did win some games. A lot, actually.

Frustrating yes, but see what it actually is.

Thank you. You - you have your head on straight.

Maybe the trick is stop letting Sullivan dictate matchups? I don't even understand how he lets 2 gimps on the same line after Geno was obviously hurt. It doesn't make sense.

I think we crush them in Philly, they shot their wad and they're walking wounded as it is. I just wish we could have played a game as mature as we did in game 4 and closed them out to give us time to heal. The Pittsburgh crowd never gets to celebrate anything in the playoffs.
Except a 2OT winner in game 7 of a conference final....actually the last two conference final wins, haha.

Letang and Kessel are the main reason this team lost. It was individual piss poor efforts. Trust Mur on Sunday.

If we win this series i dont mind the extra game played...some of these guys need to gain experience. Brassard, ZAR, Simon...should only help.

If we lose on Sunday it wont be like tonight..lack of urgency and sloppy play. It will be Neuvirth stealing the game. Pens will be all over them.

Much as I love Phil, and as much as I still believe the Pens will win this series, if they do go on to lose I think part of the reason will be letting Phil's "ironman streak" go on when it should have been voluntarily ended to let him rest.

Another factor is that while the Pens paced themselves during the regular season in anticipation of the playoffs grind, it also seems to have cost them the needed killer instinct to put teams away.

End it Sunday, learn the right lessons, and the pathetic shortie given up will quickly become a forgotten memory.

Certain posters base their preferences on players personalities and looks. As a fan of the sport, I find it really weird.
