Doubt it. He would of jumped off one of the many Pittsburgh bridges if that was the case. Guy is almost universally hated at this point. He is and was a great coach, but long past his best before date in Pittsburgh.

Present-tense with Sullivan? Nothing about this is great coaching. He can't get 5 of his top salary guys to even play their averages. His strategy doesn't work and he doesn't adjust to the personnel. His lineup decisions and punishment/reward system are completely ridiculous.
Was a great coach? Sure. A long time ago and that's worthless to the team now.

This isn't just a case of losing the room. He is making trash choices all over the place. He could be outcoached by a random AHL coach these days. No problem. They are 31st in the league and are defending like pre-Mario days. It's legit that bad. Three 2-goal leads choked in 5 games. League worst goals against.

Fire his ass. He's toast.

That the NHL would choose to create a bs record just for Crosby should surprise nobody. They've been doing him favors for his entire career along with the media who hilariously gave Crosby Selke votes last season (despite his 93 ES GA) and a Conn Smythe for a 65 point / 21 goal pace as a minus player.

He's on pace for 115 ES GA this season.
