I am talking about now and I have been critical of Gallant. They have won 6 in a row and just beat Vegas, Colorado, NJ, and Toronto. We are not playing shit hockey. Is every game a Picasso? No. They have also left many points on the table earlier in the year but I'm going to enjoy the fact that they are now winning consistently. There are only 8 or 9 teams in the league with more points than the Rangers.
So we are reverting to the mean. This squad is easily top 10 in talent and depth in the league.

Why don’t you go peddle that stuff somewhere else.
Your opinion in not my concern.

I thought Laf had two goals in about 4 periods of play with Zib before he was taken off that line.
True, he did for those few games they were together most recently and I would've kept them together. I guess I'm more saying that it's hard to argue taking Godorow off for the time being since he's actually putting up numbers. To me it's temporary anyway so it is what it is. I'd like to see:

Lafreniere-Mika-Kakko
Panarin-Chytil-Kravtsov
Kreider-Trocheck-Vesey
Blais-Goodrow-Gauthier

With Goodrow moving up the lineup as necessary depending on in game situations.

Too bad they can't win against teams like Vegas, Colorado, NJ, and Toronto. Seriously, are you even a fan?
Except I called it weeks ago at the very start of the season, this team plays better against better opponents. It's easier to counter attack in hockey than to carry the play. That's why the Rangers have a better road record too. Every single team in the league likes to counter attack, only the very best teams can both counter attack and carry the play convincingly - which the Rangers cannot yet do.

How can you not understand that criticizing that aspect of the Rangers game is legitimate and has NOTHING to do with not enjoying wins. I'm perfectly happy with the win AND the win streak, imagine that doh.

What is it with people who thinks criticism is being negative for the sake of being negative? What's that about?

Reading this board you'd think we were on a 6 game losing streak. This place is just depressing. If we can't be happy on a 6 game winning streak against some of the best teams in the league when can we be happy?

When the kids are studs

Kakko with a 3 game point streak. 4 points in his last 5. With today’s being his luckiest ever (and almost his unluckiest), I think a curse may have been broken.
Oh they changed the last goal to Kakko, makes sense. Let's hope he learns to not faff around now :D

I want this team to win a SC. Being happy about a win with shitty ass performance leads to the f***ing mediocrity, that has plagued this franchise for over 80 years.

But sure, let's just be happy about the points and maybe Drury can waste some more assets into trade line rentals, that will all go to vain.
Well then, maybe you should take a long nap until March. No point you getting upset over a 110 point season.

I could give you a wake up call for game 7.

Hockey, like life,... is a journey not a destination. Live life fully in the moment. As in enjoying K'Andre's sick breakaway.

They are playing shit hockey. This team is far too deep and talented to have to "find ways to win" against the bottom feeders of the league, which usually they have failed to do. Any coach, including Quinn, could take this squad to the playoffs easily. Even the recent worry that they might miss out is a sign of sub-par coaching.

This was the complaint all of last year...it doesn't matter how we 'look' now Get as many points as you can. Improve the team the deadline get into form and roll into the playoffs

That's not a bad plan, it's also a natural progression of the season. Too many of our stars have not hit their stride yet and no doubt they are, more or less subconsciously, keeping their powder dry for a punishing post season (this goes for other teams as well). Unlike most here I fully expected a deep run last year, I seem to be higher on this team than most yet I'm called negative :P

Where I disagree about the 'look' is that the present time is the time to set good habits in place. This is the part where the Rangers' game is still wonky and overly reliant on huffing and puffing to create good bounces, rather than structured well organized play. Huffing and puffing is not bad in itself it will always be a core part of hockey but they need to grow to have more options than that. This season is about finding another level, which we haven't seen anything of as of yet. My criticism stems from my belief that the level Gallant (Drury) is attempting to install is simply not good enough [context: to win a cup] because it's outdated (think Gallant's Vegas team).

e: finding another level certainly also means bringing the kids' game up a level or two.

Did we just get f***ed on that Kreider play or? Just saw a highlight didn't see extended replays
nah it was inconclusive. actually, from the in-net cam, it looked like the puck never totally crossed the goal line.

That play is a microcosm of Kreider’s season. Last season that would’ve conclusively totally crossed. He just hasn’t scored this season where he would have last season

Watched the replay several times. Lindgren shot the puck, Kakko never touched it. I really have no idea what they called.

Team goal?
They must have ruled that Kakko was in possession (by position) as he was shielding the puck when DeAngelo whacked him. Isn't there some off side rule that has similar possession of the puck logic? Maybe someone who knows the rules can chime in? This is an interesting one for sure :)

e: maybe even icing can be used here, they blow icing when the position is clear that the D will touch the puck first.

60% nyr fans - shoved around in their own building .
Danegelo booed every time he touched the puck - fantastic - and did he ever have a shit game .

Torts pulled their goalie too early - no Hayes ? He won’t last long in Philly .
