So why isn’t that Kakko’s goal? Puck dies in the slot unless Kakko touches it, and it’s called a goal because of the penalty against Kakko.
They are playing shit hockey. This team is far too deep and talented to have to "find ways to win" against the bottom feeders of the league, which usually they have failed to do. Any coach, including Quinn, could take this squad to the playoffs easily. Even the recent worry that they might miss out is a sign of sub-par coaching.
Who’d they beat?Despite the streak, tomorrow is a must win. You don't lose again to Chicago. They're 1-14 in their last 15.
That has nothing to do with being happy about winning 6 in a row and being in playoff position and 5 points out of 1st.All those unforgiveable losses earlier have really lowered the bar around here I guess.
we'll go real far riding Vesey and Goodrow. We're really set up for success.
It should be. Maybe they will change it after the fact.So why isn’t that Kakko’s goal? Puck dies in the slot unless Kakko touches it, and it’s called a goal because of the penalty against Kakko.
simply making the playoffs shouldn't the end goal but it seems thats all this org cares aboutThat has nothing to do with being happy about winning 6 in a row and being in playoff position and 5 points out of 1st.

It's like they were watching a different game. We were in control throughout. The one goal lead in the 3rd was no indication of how well we outplayed them. We play like this nightly, we will win 9 out of every 10 games. Even with Halak in net.I wasn't sweating it. We outplayed them pretty clearly. We've won six straight.
I don't agree with it, but he was probably trying to ensure that Lindgren got the goal.I don’t understand that lack of killer instinct on that last play by Kakko
I don't think it is the only thing they care about but it is the most important thing and quite frankly it should be.simply making the playoffs shouldn't the end goal but it seems thats all this org cares about
I was focused on Kakko, but my guess of what happened is that they didn’t award the goal due to the penalty. The penalty was completely coincidental. So why isn’t that Kakko’s goal? Puck dies in the slot unless Kakko touches it, and it’s called a goal because of the penalty against Kakko.
63.2 Minor Penalty - A minor penalty for delay of game shall be imposed
(iv) On any player who delays the game by deliberately displacing a goal post from its normal position. The Referee shall stop play immediately when the offending team gains control of the puck;
NOTE: If a player deliberately displaces a goal post from its normal position when an opponent has an imminent scoring opportunity on an open net, a goal may be awarded by the Referee (see 63.7).
63.7 Awarded Goal - In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal.
In order to award a goal in this situation, the goal post must have been displaced by the actions of a defending player, the attacking player must have an imminent scoring opportunity prior to the goal post being displaced, and it must be determined that the puck would have entered the net between the normal position of the goal posts.
If the goal post is deliberately displaced by a goalkeeper during the course of a “breakaway,” a goal will be awarded to the non-offending team.
When the goal post has been displaced deliberately by the defending team when their goalkeeper has been removed for an extra attacker thereby preventing an impending goal by the attacking team, the Referee shall award a goal to the attacking team.
The goal frame is considered to be displaced if either or both goal pegs are no longer in their respective holes in the ice, or the net has come completely off one or both pegs, prior to or as the puck enters the goal.
Why don’t you go peddle that stuff somewhere else.Well Picasso was into cubism and broken to bits is our playstyle. 2 points yes, 2 points but the team continues to underperform severely. The root issues remain.
People will complain about something. They could have won 10-0 and be on a 20 game win streak. It just doesn't matter.
we won the xG contest tonight.Same people complaining they weren’t winning while xG was through the roof are now complaining they are winning ugly…
You can do both especially with all the vets we have. Its frustrating that we have guys that could be top 6 players with some time and effort put into them but instead we'll trade futures at the deadline for top 6 players.Making the playoffs is the one and only ambition this org has.
I thought Laf had two goals in about 4 periods of play with Zib before he was taken off that line.We all like to complain about Goodrow on that line but he gets put there, for better or worse, and he does nothing but fill in admirably. I don't want him there either, but the guy has put up points while being there. Kakko, Lafreniere and Kravtsov get minutes there and don't put up numbers. I want them there over Goodrow too, but I'm not going to get mad about him being there if he's actually contributing. I'll save my anger for when he's playing there and sucking (which he was a few games ago btw). Oh well, after Gallant's comments about "knowing where he really wants Goodrow" I'm assuming he knows where Goodrow should be in his lineup and he'll be where he should when it actually matters. Goodrow is doing an admirable job of filling that slot for the time being and I'm not going to let my imagination get the best of me assuming he'll be there forever.
