BSD played so well, I'm impressed. I am *really* impressed, he is much better this year so far than I thought he would be as a backup.

I wonder if this is a similar effect to what Brossoit gave the Jets in his back up role. eg, Bro played better than I thought he would for us.

The common denominator is the Jets goalie coach. Is his influence that good? Maybe its because he's practicing with Helly every day?

The same goalie coach that was ruining our goalies?

I think its just the team and system in front of them

As I fly from TO to the Dominican with full wifi I must admit (with a few bevi’s under the belt) this so warms my heart to beat Pitt in their barn on the 2nd half of our B2B with our back up!! As I mentioned earlier today I have allot of faith in our coaching staff to make the adjustments and for this team to buy in.

Sure, thats got to be in the mix. But I can't help think that backing up Helly puts a shyteload of pressure on BSD to perform.

Its been my experience with goalie coaches they are there to work on what the goalies already know and to be a personal cheer leader and sound board for them. They are their own beast and they think differently.

I just don't think at the NHL there is some goalie guru making them better. I think that stuff is in Bantam/Midget/Junior. Once they get beyond that its a rehash and whoever can make them feel comfortable is what they have. In the Jets case Helly likes Wade and its a simple as that. They connect and it works. I am sure the backups that we have had all liked Wade as well

Grrreat win - actually dominated the Pens everywhere on the ice. Not going to mention a lot of the individual play but this game was noteworthy for the relentless TEAM game we played.... . Positionally very sound hockey, excellent reads and good execution. Best of all, all 4 lines played really well in terms of players supporting one another in both the defensive zone and the offensive zone. Seemed that their timing was right on tonight.

Bones really followed through on his commitment to correct any bad habits before they become embedded in the boy`s play. Nice job coach.

I wonder if that’s true. I wonder why certain teams draft better goalies or develop them. For instance, Boston, Nashville, Washington have had more than their fair share of great goalies.

Huh, I guess I focused too much on a few plays by Perfetti. I didn't think he had a great game. Nice pass to Wheeler on the Scheifele goal but apart from that thought he was bobbling the puck a lot. Wasn't wowing me consistently like he did in the Detroit game.
