Hard to say they barely ever play

So yeah personally id move on from both of them. But thats just me, can you imagine their style of play in the playoffs?? Me neither
Honestly, I think it’s pretty difficult to predict how players will perform in the playoffs. Bobby Ryan allegedly couldn’t spell intensity but he was incredible in 2017. Turris never struck me as a guy that would elevate in the playoffs because he was a bit on the weaker side but he was always great.

But at this rate we may never see them in the playoffs at all so that’s the bigger concern lol

Hmmm

You do make some good points so can’t argue.

What does that have to do with the effort we gave tonight?

Sure, they were able to motivate themselves against the wild, they sure didn't tonight though. Maybe the high from the winning streak faded and reminded them they are just playing out the season, the early goals obviously didn't help either.
Teams have bad games. Doesn’t mean they’re checked out or not. That’s all.

Completely disjointed effort. Panthers' passes were crisp and reaching their destination, Sens' passes were telegraphed and sloppy. Could be because Panthers were hustling without the puck and the Sens weren't.

Funnily enough SOGs were almost even, but the score far from it...

If we ever make the playoffs, I hope to heck that its not Florida. We have MTkachuk doing whatever he wants with our roster and our captain won't do shit about it because of a promise to his mom.

Like you don't have to fight him, but give your rat brother a solid body check.

The whole roster is soft and can't intercept a single cross ice pass in front of their net.

It was just a horrendous goaltending show. There is a new goalie coach
Justin Peters with no experience or skills to coach and it shows. Sens need to find just an average NHL goalie, middle of the pucks. Not what we have now. It is unacceptable.

Giroux has also been invisible lately... Is it ok to criticize him?
He's 36 and carried this team until as far as humanly possible. He's probably very frustersted with this group who doesn't show up to the rink and competes night in night out. I don't blame him, no one should. You wanna be angry blame guys like Chychrun who refuse to compete and stutzle who are only out there for points. Those guys didn't hold up their end of the bargain this season. They were awful.

You guys know, it’s good to lose, right?same people complaining about wins and the end of the season and this loss is pretty on brand for them in many cases.

What's our record since January 13th?

This is a results based business. I can clearly see how there's been a transition in play when we have a lead. But I also see us giving up that first goal and chasing the game.

At the end of the day, to me nothing has changed. Sometimes guys show up, play hard, and if we get a few stops we win. And sometimes we get no stops. Other times we simply don't show up.

This is where advanced stats are a problem

Cf% 51
SF 49%
SCF 49%
xGF 49%

Advanced stats tell you the game was even Steven. Reality says that game was f***ing embarrassing

So... is it the same old, same old, or is it a marked improvement?

You asked the question, but wrt our record

Oct to 12 Jan 14-23-0, .378 pts%, 29th in the league.
13 Jan to present, 19-15-4, .553 pts%, 16th in the league.

Results based business, seems the results have changed, even if there are still games that are reminiscent of the first half.

Advanced stats, like any stats in pretty much any forum require a sufficient sample. The bigger the sample, the smaller the margin of error. a sample of 1 will have a very large margin of error,

That said, I'm not really sure what you posted, Natural statrick had the game at 47.92 CF%, 48 SF%, 39.53 SCF%, 27.78 HDCF%, and 36.32 xGF% 5v5, that matches my eye test. The only time we generated anything was on the early powerplays.

IMO, this was the worst most disheartening pathetic team performance of the season. Funny because I am not looking for wins, just solid effort. I am not just talking about all the inept pathetic playmaking, I am more miffed at the complete lack of pride and heart, effort. They let Stú get crushed at one point and then ignore the issue while he gets manhandled, smacked around all night. What a gutless spineless lack of pride performance. I have been trying to be patient hoping that small incremental changes from a strong systems coach could change this team, but tonight's game tells me this team is in serious need of a complete personality adjustment. Major changes are needed!

Welcome to the club. I've been here for a couple months now.

🤣😆😂

There were people, two games ago, discussing scenarios where we sneak into the playoffs! Some of you people never learn.

I honestly try to call these people out any chance I get.

It's insanity to think positive things about this team at this point.

31st in the league at giving up the 1st goal of the game, under Martin. 31/49 games we've started by trailing first. Kinda insane, to be honest.

Strictly as a point of comparison, we scored first in 17/26 GP under DJ, which was T6 for best in the league.

Was at the game. Sens didn't want to disrupt Brady's summer plans of cheering on FLA. Should have been a physical response all game on their top players after the run in Timmy in the first.

Guarantee Neil would have taken a nice run at one of their stars right afterwards to send a message.

Agreed on Neil. We used to have players take pride in our team. The Alfie's. The Neil's. The fishers.

They didn't just fold over and not care. They would go out and force things game in and game out.

We don't have anyone like that. Even Brady look dejected, or will just get in a scrum when the game is done instead of making something happen to change the fortunes of the game.

Brady must be annoyed of getting shit on by his brother

Dear lord what a terrible season
But Brady doesn't want to hurt his brother so I'm sure he's very happy for him.

Honestly...he should probably just fight him.

What his mom says really shouldn't matter. I can't believe we just accepted that answer.

The Primeau brothers faught. If it's what's needed, it's what you do.

Plenty of best friends who grew up together rhave faught.

What a mom says a player is allowed to do or not should probably get laughed at. This is the NHL. Go love your mom and brother after the game, but during the game, they're irrelevant.

I think last night was more about the Panthers being pissed off and flexing some muscle. They are one of the top teams in the league and last night we saw why.

Ottawa had chances, the puck just wouldn't trickle past Bobrovsky. Brady had what seemed like a wide open net off a brilliant pass by Stutzle in the first period, but the puck wouldn't go.

It seemed everything the Panthers fired on net did go. That was the difference.

In 3 games against Florida this year, we're 0-2-1 with 2GF and 14GA, 0%PP and 66.7%PK. Sure, Florida is a very good team but we've been absolutely demolished by them to a degree we haven't been by any other team. I would say it has less to do with Florida being very good and more to do with this team getting punked by Brady's big bro all season.

Or maybe perception of the game based on only a couple things varies greatly.

You think Matt tkatchuk scares our power play ? And scares our goalies?

We aren’t the only team to get physically run around by Florida. They are known for that style of play and they are very good. If we could simply just go toe to toe with them then they likely wouldn’t be what they are
