I did read that Cranley had at least one strong performance with St Louis at the Prospects Tournament. It would be huge if he gets on track early and performs. We shall see. I’m certainly rooting for him and hoping so.

Nightingale is recruiting well for MSU right now, but he's also a first year head coach, so results will matter to keep his recruiting classes together.

Also Piroski is backing up Day tonight, hoping he gets some action in the game, would love to see what he looks like.

Big jump to the O but he had really good numbers last year.

Game wasn't streamed last night, so no idea how he really looked, but his 2nd and 3rd vs Day's 1, by the numbers he looked impressive.

There's a list of some rule changes in the Windsor thread, these 2 I think are the biggest.

- No more hybrid icing
- Switching ends in 3v3 OT for the long change

I’m sure you’ll hear some responses about staying in Grand Blanc but personally I’d stay at the Hilton Gardens downtown. Valet parking, Decent Italian restaurant downstairs, roof-top bar which might not be open because of weather/temperature, really nice rooms and I know that teams have been staying there too. As far as seating, the arena isn’t huge or ultra modern but there’s really not a bad seat in the house. I’d pick something close to one of the corner concession stands or bathrooms which are close to any edge of the blue lines. I’d also enter and exit via Averill Ave and not Court St. Gens fans usually travel pretty well and for the last couple years there was a large contingent of Tullio family members in Section 8. Friendly and cool owners you have in Oshawa. We’ll see how well they travel with Ty graduated.

Holly rd Grand Blanc…there’s new Hotels and you’re right by I-75 for your drive to the Lions game…easy to get to and from the rink. Food options right there plus others near by

I’m just looking at numbers….only saw the Windsor game at Iceland….but it appears Day had a better game last night. He looked good vs Windsor when I saw him live too. Hopefully it’s just an issue of finding consistency which isn’t surprising since he’s just now entering his 17yo season with less than 10 games of real expierience. It appears Cranley has been looking good with St Louis too. Firebirds don’t have a lot of draft capital to work with but they’ll be ok if they don’t have to address goaltending. In addition to having less picks available than some teams they also have a 16yo 1st rounded they likely can’t/won’t trade. So when a team wants a 16yo 1st round kid in addition to picks, Flint is already out of that race.

That is my biggest concern. Everybody ranks Flint First in the West this year instead of their perennial last place prediction spot. Then Othmann stays in NY, Piercey ends up in GR, Cranley struggles and they get hit with injuries. Cranley has looked solid at St Louis camp apparently, and I find it unlikely Brennan and Riley stick but all three of those are still technically possible.

Even if Piercey gets signed, I’m 99% they’d send him back. There wouldn’t really be a lot of time for him in GR. I mean Cross Hanas is likely slotting into 3/4 line duty. Piercey would be scratched 9/10 nights. They’d almost certainly think it’s better for him to be one of THE guys in junior this year.

They don’t really have roster space between the Wings picks and guys the Griffins signed

Yeah, I’m sure you guys know what you’re talking about plus you’d think being the man and ripping up the O at 18-22 minutes a night for 60+ and hopefully a long playoff run is better for his development than 4th line minutes in the A or whatever in the ECHL.
