I mean, it’s good they can sign their draft picks and all but if the only acquisition they can make at the trade deadline (over the course of 2 years) is Nolan Dann and the excuse is “we couldn’t get anyone to waive their NTC or come here” then it really won’t matter. They’ll never win a Chsmpionship or even reach the Finals with a roster built ONLY on the draft. It is the foundation though and I’m looking forward to watching a younger roster grow next year but Dent needs to replace the future 2nd round picks he burned this year for 3rd round picks. There’s only one way to do that and they haven’t shown a willingness to do that either. Then the org needs to prove they can acquire top shelf NHL drafted talent through trades. London’s top producer right now? Trade deadline acquisition. 3 of the top 4 Peterborough scorers? Trade deadline acquisitions.

Finally you are making some sense "It won't really matter, they'll never win a Championship or even reach the finals with a roster built ONLY on the draft."

How many times/years are you going to continue supporting a billionaire who has created an atmosphere where the players you need refuse to be part of his team in a trade coming to Flint? It has happen repeatedly. All you need to do is just talk to scouts and player agents and they will tell you all about it.

John Gruden, Ryan Oulahen and Eric Wellwood all former Flint coaches have gone on to success where they realized that they did not have to consistently deal with NTC obstacles in their current positions as they had to when in Flint.

Your spot on saying that 3 of the top 4 Peterborough scorers were trade deadline acquisitions. This is a team that finished with fewer points than Flint during the regular season and have put themselves into a position to win a OHL championship. This would not be happening if those acquisitions were not made.

Players will more often than not go to a team they believe can win. Lalonde, Tucker, & Piercey waived NTCs to Flint.
I’ll guess the trade of Othman and maybe unsettled goaltending had a lot more to do with players not wanting to go to Flint this season than the owner.

The Petes made their intent to make a run this season known at the 2021-22 deadline by trading MacTavush for Stillman & Meele. The pre-season trade for Lockhart then Othman trade left no doubt the goal was a championship and that the team was ‘all-in’.

He led his OJHL team in scoring last year. The ‘05 crop just got even better. I just think the ‘05 group has a really good core to take a run with. Stojkov, Smith and Bradshaw as OA candidates. Who am I missing? It seems obvious to me. Hit reset and a quick turnaround for a run the year after.

Snagged a Michigan Tech NCAA commit. My gut tells me that means something.
Geez. Tells me he either had a 25% scholarship to Tech or has a bad agent. Kids going to come in as an 18 year old, play 2 years and unlikely to stay as an OA. That's a 2 year education package for him in the O

Good news for sure. The one I really want to see inked is Dryden Allen. If they can get him into the fold then the others I’m hoping for will just be icing on the cake. Graziano and Hull they should have a good shot at. D’Arcy sounded like he’d sign if he earns a spot. Americans Potter and Jardine are the type of signings that will be tough but what the organization needs if they want to really take it to the next level and start building a history of American recruitment and track record of successful paths to the NHL/Pro Hockey. Can’t say I’m dissapointed in how the off-season has went…..so far.

If McPharlans first order of business was that trade yesterday. I'm all for it.
He’s got a proven track record and resume with Plymouth and Flint. The team really started trending upward about the same time as Posa’s arrival behind the bench. Obviously there were other factors but that can’t be overlooked. I think all of those moves lend themselves some optimism.
