....but the on-ice product IS fantastic now that it’s back under Rolf’s control. Thanks Rolf.
Aren't you going to also thank Christenson for his efforts, the OHL sure took care of him......"one gone and one more to go"

Then you”ll have all the free time on the world to spend in Toledo
I go to Toledo for business, hockey is just the reason.

I hope I am wrong, but I think Windsor wins in “6”. Flint is good, but Hamilton and Windsor just look destined for the finals. Flint is playing good and I know will play tough.

I agree the series will go 6 games. The big question is which Cavallin will we see? The Cavallin who went 1-5 with a 6.20 GAA and .873 Sv% against Windsor or the Cavallin who sports an 8-4 record, 2.40 GAA and .934 Sv% during the playoffs.

Well, you won’t see the former. Windsor had their number during the regular season and Flint didn’t match up well individually or systems wise. It may remain the same to a degree but Windsor hasn’t seen a full Flint lineup yet. The Spits are a bit more top heavy roster wise and have a little less depth to sustain injuries. Also, Flint just handled the Greyhounds fairly well after a tough Owen Sound matchup. Windsor appears to have had their hands full against 7 seed Kitchener and 8 seed Sarnia. It’s difficult to know which Firebirds team will show up and which Spitfires team will show up.

That is the million $ question. If Luke continues his playoff play Flint has a very good chance. If not then I think Spits in 6-7.

Solid effort. They just gotta limit their time on the PK as much as possible. Only one game but that should get the monkey off their back. All things considered, really nothing to complain about.

1 step at a time lol
True. I’m only concerned about the next game. The goal is now come home to a rocking house up 2-0.

Watch party viewed the game from here in Tampa...Windsor media selects Cavallin as 1st Star....that translates to good news for Flint.

Yes it does, but it wasn’t even Cav’s best playoff performance. He was really good but we’ve seen unreal and unbelievable out of him a few times this postseason. He’ll have bigger nights this series. I think that’s just the Windsor press box trying to act like they got beat by goaltending. It was 4-1 5on5 and I think Flint will put more in on Onuska in at least one game soon.

Cav was excellent. But also Hay shadowed Johnson the entire game. No assists or goals from Johnson.
That’s the key too. If Cavallin plays even close to like he has and they manage to shut down/heavily limit Johnston and Cuylle they’ll win the series. Having Kressler back is huge in that regard. If they can get it done with a 16yo primarily being the forward shadowing Johnston...jeez. That Hay-Pitre-Slavicek line can produce offense too, as seen in game 5 vs the Soo. Which is sort of their 4th line I guess. Flint picked up the W last night without the Othmann line finishing their chances. That’ll change. Glad to see them give Mayotte the seat for the post game interviews last night. He had a big night. Another win in Windsor would be huge but even coming back to Flint 1-1 is job accomplished to start the series.

I like how the Windsor media mentioned the Flint-Windsor regular season record a ton, even in the post game interviews but they ain’t talking about Flint’s record against Erie and Saginaw anymore.

Johnston had a goal.

Regarding Cavallin - regardless of how he played earlier in the post-season, he was outstanding last night and deserved the number one star. Without him, it's not necessarily a 4-3 win. Windsor definitely made some mistakes, but he was a serious difference maker.
