We are in the Conference Finals for the first time ever! We really should get away from attacking fellow Flint Hockey fans no matter how much you dislike them! Other teams fans? Rip away. We have a significant challenge in Windsor. Really surprised it is mid-Saturday and still no Western Conference Final dates are set.

Had to go back and read the first thread from this year.

Missed a great year.

:laugh::laugh: The only guy who left was Morgan, and according to rumors, that wasn't his choice.

Taking some credit for that one. ha

@hockeylegend11 HOT TAKE!

Not sure what level the NCDC league is, but Grainer put up some numbers there.

Picked up Mayotte for a 6th, what a steal that was. Was rock solid defender, didn't give much offensively, but didn't need too.

@bird fan HOT TAKES!

Congrats Flint. The first four games could have gone either way, but no denying the game 5 result. The better team won.

Your team is very patient and disciplined. Good luck setting more franchise milestones.

Kerins bangs home that wide open net with 30 seconds left in Game 4 and we live in a whole different world. Not to mention Dickinson, but I guess those things happen. Thompson’s game didn’t cost you but lack of discipline from Tynan might have.

I stand corrected. Now after 4pm Sunday and no series dates announced. The Eastern Conference Finals were posted last night.
No biggie, only humor on my part. Hamilton finished Friday so 1 extra day to set it up. At the spits game last night they announced that it starts Thursday. League office closed today with no games so it will likely get posted tomorrow. Should be a fun series.

Glad to see we both get a weekend game in the first “4” games.
The OHL dropped the ball on the conference finals schedule. They have all teams playing on the same day at the same time for games 3-7. This would have been an opportunity for each conference to be the one and only game on a specific date with alternating days. Didn't get to see much of the Eastern Conference teams this year and probably won't either during the way the schedule is set up.

Orange Out? Okay. Orange Rally Towels? I like it. Neither will cost Flint much, if anything. However, what are they doing for announcements and advertising on the 3 tv stations and some of the local popular radio stations? They need to spend money to make money (particularly with a Wednesday and Friday Night home game). Hopefully they will. I do not live in the area, so maybe they are? Go Firebirds!

Do the teams not work out the sched based on a start date and series completion date? Does the league only step if an agreement couldn't be made between the teams?
Are the the arenas all available to schedule games as you suggest? Are the 4 teams in agreement with what you are suggesting? Lots of moving parts when ya got 2 weeks to squeeze in 7 games, arena availability, short notice, 2 teams each series with preferred dates.......
Agreed its less than ideal but honestly I don't think it changes viewship #s much either way.....

If they have them play on the same day couldn't they have scheduled them playing at least 3 hours apart on the one weekend game scheduled on May 29th? They usually don't play Sunday night in the OHL except for maybe in Oshawa.

Do the teams decide on the schedule for the playoffs?
I'm not sure it's the OHLs fault. Maybe I'm wrong.

This is true. I know the Windsor Express also play Basketball in the same arena here in Windsor this time of year. I have no idea what their schedule is, but I imagine they have to work around that here as well....

The OHL has the final say and approves and makes the official announcement in regards to the schedule, including game times. But of course they work with all teams for a resolution which HOPEFULLY satisfies everyone involved.

So the teams agre on a schedule they want and the league rubber stamps it?
I know the gets involved if the teams can't agree but it seems the initial post I responded to was blaming the OHL for dropping the ball. I'm not sure they did in this instance. I agree there is lots of opportunity for improvement on many levels with the league but this semi final schedule isn't one I'd lay on therir lap as was suggested.

Why isn't this happening in Flint? Over 8,000+ tickets sold for each game with less than 300 tickets remaining for each playoff game ...... Toledo Walleye
