Look at my above reasoning, if Markstrom can't get up for this game then he's done for the year mentally. Former team + got shelled the previous game versus a dogshit team + backup running circles around him.

This team does this consistently with every single goalie they traded for to be a starter no matter how good the back up plays. Blackwood had this treatment, then so did Vtek, now it's Markstroms time. You could even argue Cory. Everyone knew he was shot.
I do like Markstroms play pre-injury but I do think Fitz is an absolute moron for not trading for Hellebuyck. If memory serves me correct he was willing to come here, they were willing to trade him but Fitz didn't meet trade demands. Fitz keeps making these short term moves but they keep biting us in the ass because we get a goalie for a year but by next year we need a new one already. It's not often a goalie of that caliber is available. With the rising cap that contract would've been super easy to squeeze in & we wouldn't always have to keep worrying about this position.
 
Glass and Bratt duo needs to be put back together. Throw in Dowling with Mercer and Tatar if they need a replacement for Palat

Markstrom will get a few starts the rest of the way for sure but Allen needs to be the #1 at least for now. Gotta ride the hot hand. Even Skeletor knows that

I don’t think this is a “get up for a game” problem. This is a physically not healthy problem. Give him some rest and practice to get back in better form and run with Allen. If you can get points with Allen then you are in a position to play Markstrom some in April with more rest and presumably in a healthier position.

And I'm sure that'll be the discussion for the next few weeks. Just IR Markstrom and run with Allen and Daws. Markstrom at his peak is the only way this team is beating the Canes but that's not happening if they just got dumpstered by the mediocre Calgary Flames

Cory wasn’t even THIS bad before Hynes was line “yeah, f*** this” in March of 2018.

Although Cory was bad for quite some time before he left the lineup injured. Markstrom was not.

Blaming Keefe for a physical ailment that a player is probably not disclosing or he's lying isn't fair. If Markstrom says he's healthy and the coaches don't see his movements being hampered, he needs to play. And I disagree, he was giving some dogshit to bad goals earlier in the year as well that were on par with tonight. He's healthy, he's just bad possibly which is a tough pill to swallow for this management and fanbase considering what they give up

No need to IR Markstrom. Just call up Daws. IR means he can’t play for pretty much the rest of the season. It would be good to get him some games if they can clinch early.

No. Its my 15th season as a STH. Tens of thousands to not see the playoffs 12 of the 14 prev seasons.

Id like to see my third playoff berth even if they lose all four games by ten. I need them to humpty their way in @Bleedred

Rushing back Markstrom, what a great idea this has turned out to be.

Markstrom has lost us at least a point or 2 against Dallas, possibly a point against Pittsburgh and 2 tonight.

That's 4/5 valuable points there. Could have just played Daws those 3 games.

Oh, pretty sure they're going to make it. But they aren't going to do any damage. I give them 1 game against the Canes.

I meant it more in the sense that I don't believe this group as currently constructed is doing any damage in the playoffs whatsoever.

I assume @Devs3cups doesn't think we'll miss the playoffs but trash the season in the sense that this season isn't ending with a Cup win. they'll make the playoffs but it'll probably end in 2018 esque in 5-6 to Carolina
