GDT: Flames vs Devils 7:00 PM EST MSGSN2

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

We have to start our 35 year old goalie who looks like he’s 59 because he used to play for this team!

Keefe showing both that he may not have much of a clue tactic wise and he also has no f***ing clue which goalie to play!

Where’s John Hynes when you need him?

Oh, pretty sure they're going to make it. But they aren't going to do any damage. I give them 1 game against the Canes.

I meant it more in the sense that I don't believe this group as currently constructed is doing any damage in the playoffs whatsoever.
No one does. But its still a fun experience.

Only thing can propel them is a linsanity run by Allen and playing like they did against Edmonton for a FULL 60.

I assume @Devs3cups doesn't think we'll miss the playoffs but trash the season in the sense that this season isn't ending with a Cup win. they'll make the playoffs but it'll probably end in 2018 esque in 5-6 to Carolina
Exactly. I still believe in this team's future. But they aren't doing crap this year.

Get in the playoffs, get that experience, fine. I understand that. They're most likely getting in.

Keefe basically just said that Markstrom is still injured lol what are we doing here? Just play Daws some games

What part of the presser? I didn’t really hear anything like that. Only questions was if Markstrom was back to his game or there was progress shown

I don’t think this is a “get up for a game” problem. This is a physically not healthy problem. Give him some rest and practice to get back in better form and run with Allen. If you can get points with Allen then you are in a position to play Markstrom some in April with more rest and presumably in a healthier position.
I can’t imagine he’s not healthy.

My prediction is they heat up with five or six or so games to go, and they have a Cinderella run to the ECF, then lose in five games to Carolina.

"He's not there, yet" was telling me he expects Markstrom to way better in net and he's still working out the kinks from his injury not that he's still hurt unless there was a different quote you're referring to

I like Marky, he’s a MASSIVE reason why the Devils are where they are and are ready to clinch a playoff spot. He can’t help getting hurt on that bull shit play.

That being said, how much rope are they going to give for him to to find his game if that’s even possible?

Blaming Keefe for a physical ailment that a player is probably not disclosing or he's lying isn't fair. If Markstrom says he's healthy and the coaches don't see his movements being hampered, he needs to play. And I disagree, he was giving some dogshit to bad goals earlier in the year as well that were on par with tonight. He's healthy, he's just bad possibly which is a tough pill to swallow for this management and fanbase considering what they give up
No one is blaming anyone for an injury. It isn’t rocket science to connect a guy (who was Vezina caliber before earlier the year) coming back from an injury and post and mid-.800 sv pct. I commented at the start of the game he looked slow going down. I’m sure the coaches think him playing will help, but it’s at the point of the season where you can’t screw around with that. You can’t drop points.

This is kind of similar to Florida two years ago with Bob when they were trying to get in. He was injured came back slow and they rode Lyon into the playoffs. When Bob got the net back in the playoffs with more rest he was better. The Pittsburgh game should have been the signal to run with Allen for a stretch until at least the back to back next week.

He was also mediocre to start off this year when he was healthy so you can't just pin it all on the injury and why it's probably confusing to us and the coaching staff.

I’m not convinced Keefe has learned.

And this turtling tactic is really showing some of his warts. If he’s gonna do that then he needs to stop playing the guy that’s barely above 80% the past 5 games.

Any proof it's really a tactic? Don't remember then doing this a whole lot before the CBJ game. Maybe they just play scared.
