He doesn't have options left? Thought I read somewhere that he could be sent down. I guess scratch him then. He doesn't deserve to be playing.

Nope, would require waivers, unless it's a conditioning stint.

He really doesn't deserve a lineup spot right now, though.

Any time you leave a player 1 v the goalie at point blank, it's everyone elses fault but the goalie.

Well, the guy's man (Zuccarello) was down in the corner after getting cross checked. Really can't blame Zuccarello there. Blame the ref, blame the ref, but Hank got something on the puck. He misplayed it. I blame him as much as I blame the ref.

Yeah, I can't outright blame Hank for that. I didn't during the game thread, either.

I mean, he didn't look as bad as he has this year. I think part of what made him so successful was his mental fortitude. I think his confidence took a little bit of a hit last year. He probably expected it to naturally get better with a coaching change. It hasn't and it's probably frustrated him and made him even less confident.

At any rate, I think he'll really hit his stride right around Olympics season, especially if Sweden wins gold. He needs to find what made him successful, mentally, and go back to that.

Looked like it hit Brassard stick and flip over Hank.

It was just a bad play. Zucc got crosschecked. Falk tried to pin the other player. He expected one of the forwards to chip in on the streaking Calgary player. No one covered him - leaving the guy wide open at the doorstep.

No way that's Henrik's fault. He can't be expected to save that.

I think part of the problem with Hank right now is that there is no real incentive to be Hank. If he plays great we maybe squeak in the playoffs and get bounced out the first round. I think, maybe subconsciously, I think he could be thinking "whats the point?"

Gentleman, it's as plain as day that Hank is not his usual amazing self this year. We've been spoiled for anything remotely human from a goal keep and now it's here.

He's still the best goalie in the world and I'd be truly dismayed had we not signed him.

Players like Henrik are never just satisfied. They never lack incentive to strive for greatness.

He has a lack of confidence. It's not a lack of desire or lack of preparation. Part of what makes these players who they are is their confidence. He's lost it. Needs to regain it.

“@AGrossRecord: Dylan McIlrath gets the Broadway Hat for, well, c'mon, pretty obvious why.”

I'd have to see it again, but I thought it was a weak shot that Hank got with his arm/blocker, but he overplayed/misplayed it, and it deflected off of him into the net.

If it was a clean shot, I don't blame Hank. I thought it was a weak, very stoppable, effort that was botched.

If it deflected off Brassard's stick, I take back what I've been saying.

I think the problem with Hank is one of the following:

1) new pad regulations is messing with his head

2) doesn't he have a new baby now?

3) Allaire changed made adjustments that Hank isn't comfortable with yet.

Whatever the problem is, he better fix it because the Rangers suck dick without him playing lights out.

Maybe he's just having a down year. It happens. Hopefully he'll get into a groove at some point...but it's also possible he's not going to dominate for stretches this season.

If I were a betting man, that would be my answer. Having a child will completely change your life, and athletes are no different.

Hank played very well under Tom Renney, as well as Torts...he's played under different systems, he's adjusted to pad restrictions before. Ajdusting to fatherhood is a different animal.

I have full faith that he'll be the same old Henrik sooner rather than later.

Take hold of the Flames (song reference, pun intended).

Zucc, Moore, Poo and Richards with some nice SO goals. Kreider was ridiculous.

1) The team in front of him.

2) The team in front of him.

3) The team in front of him.

Calgary's 3rd goal is the textbook reason why most team dont play man defense.

Falk leaves the slot to play his man behind the net. At best that leaves Brad Richards picking up the forward crashing the slot. At worst Richards is late in recognizing and the opposing forward has free reign directly in front of the net.

It's asinine in my opinion.

Wasn't it Brassard?
