That's also a fully healthy lineup which isn't always going to be available, especially considering their style of play and the age of some guys. Zito's going to have be shrewd with the remaining cap to secure some good depth pieces on top of figuring out the goaltending situation. Vilmanis will be a nice option to have in reserve at least. Had an extremely impressive season and is capable of playing both wings effectively.

Everybody. EVERYBODY. Knows Carolina’s cup has an asterisk on it since they didn’t face Florida in route to the cup. They danced their way in because the true top dog was recovering from three Stanley cup finals in a row. Winning under that circumstance and pretending they did it hard is a joke. You will find out real fast how much of a joke Carolina is to Florida.

Imagine not making the playoffs and still bragging about how your team is the best one.....Yikes.

Still impressive that Staios got three 1st round picks for a 65pt guy. Larkin is a better player than Brady and I don't even think Stevie Y gets that kind of return this summer.

kinda hate that gms are giving into these grown up babies and just sending them wherever they want
You aren't the first person to bring this up in the last couple months but its a business. What do you expect to happen? I keep bringing this point up - if you play hardball with a player, you are sending a message to current and future players too. Say OTT tells Brady tough shit play out your contract, he walks in free agency AND likely has a poor outlook on you / front office that he spreads to other players. You have to minimize the amount of drama in your lockerrom.

Just a ridiculous offence Florida now has. One could arguably say that Brady is their 6th best forward. 6th. On what other teams would Brady be their 6th best forward?

M. Tkachuk - Bennett - B. Tkachuk would be a top line on many NHL teams. So Florida essentially now has two #1 lines and a #2 line.

I don't disagree with that, but I think this also sends a message that if you pout we'll give you what you want. I feel like the GMs and owners need to collectively hold the line a little bit... Unless you're the GM of the 4 or 5 tax free, sunny destinations this frat club USA team is angling to get themselves to, this trend should be incredibly worrying

Said it yesterday - welcome to the player empowerment era of the NHL. This NBA style empowerment is now here.

But like... GMs are the ones who give out these dumbass NMCs, it's partly their own doing to go like "we literally cannot trade you unless you say yes" and then go full hotdog-man when the player wants to go to 1 place only

M. Tkachuk - Bennett - B. Tkachuk is the ultimate villain line. Every team are going to hate playing against this line. Hate. Imagine them in the playoffs, get ready.

I mean it's basically in every North American sport now, outside of the NFL at times due to the dead cap that would occur with possible trades and how far along the contract is at.

I assume in European soccer some players have the same pull as well? But ignorant to the transfers over there.
